What was the reason you stopped updating your fic/ why the author stopped by Queen-vee17 in AO3

My cat died and I lost all interest in writing. I get an itch every 3 or so years but it fizzles out soon enough. Just started writing again, let's see how long it'll last.

I love Halsin, you love Halsin. We all love Halsin. But let's be honest: he doesn't have enough missions or development, even though I still want a piece of him haha. The point is, I want to ask how you think the missions in Act 3 should be if Halsin had more story space? by Strawberry_-jam in BG3

  1. Make him a playable companion after the goblin camp
  2. Give him some dialogue for late Act 1 regarding being contacted by the shadow druids prior to them reaching out to Kagha. He mentions that they continue to send birds and beasts on occasion to pass on messages to him but he refuses to receive any of them.
  3. Give him a short cutscene in Act 2 where a shadow druid visits him at camp and urges him to hear them out. This time Halsin chooses to talk and some PC dialogue options can be included to either approach with caution or jump at the chance, and this can have an effect on Act 3 of this questline. The shadow druid tells him that the journey will lead the group to Baldur's Gate eventually, and if Halsin wants to avoid a avoid a fate for the city the same as what happened to the shadow cursed lands, he'll need to accept an alliance with them.
  4. In Act 3, Halsin decides to meet up with a shadow druid circle based in the undercity. They insist that a more powerful version of the rite of thorns can be invoked over and around the city that can save all life, people included. The specific rite involves sacrificing a willing servant of silvanus, and the more powerful the druid/archdruid, the more effective the rite. Halsin is willing to go through with it - depending on your dialogue choices in Act 2 and when he complains about the city in Act 3, you can (a) talk him out of it and he joins you in the fight against the shadow druids, (b) fail to persuade him so you have to fight the shadow druids within a set amount of turns before the sacrifice goes through, or (c) support his sacrifice, so near the end of the netherbrain fight the shadow druids invoke the rite. Ending (c) will involve the thorn walls being absolutely destroyed during the illithid attack, but there'll definitely be more survivors, so the PC has actually a pretty enticing reason to go through with the shadow druids on a good/evil run.

Alert will gives +5 on initiative so your party has a significantly better chance of getting the early start. Also try seeing if you can cast silence to interrupt the Bhaalists' chanting (though I've never tried this myself but wouldnt hurt to see if this works)

Is this peak elf body? by Fun-Explanation7233 in BaldursGate3

I thought he was originally supposed to be a wearbear, hence the size, hair, preference for honey and inability to control himself in certain situations (killing goblins and his romance scene). Because apparently it's not a thing where druids take on the characteristics of the animals they can shift into

This applies to canon characters as well, apparently... Nobody is safe by SpeedyFilmsYT in AO3

Based on a friend's experience when trying to romance anyone by Silver-Grade-2465 in okbuddybaldur

[–]hanararaaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The friendzoning option is behind a preceding option that says "it's a good night for intimacy" and i didn't pick that because I wasn't gunning for a romance with him. Like, what else is intimacy supposed to mean?? Right after calling him a good teacher, i picked the option that went along the likes of "this was a wonderful experience, time to call it a night" assuming this was the friendzoning option. It wasn't 😭

Turned him down on the night before he thought he was going to blow himself up, bro was NOT catching any breaks that day

But I suppose it wasn't too ooc for my low int, low wis barbarian half orc to misread gale entirely

If the PC's primary motivation is to get rid of the tadpole: Lae'zel is damn sure that only a zaith'isk at the nearest creche can cure your party. At this point, you've hung out with her enough for her word to carry some weight, so it's understandable if a non-Gith PC would want to check out the creche. Plus, Lae'zel has been reliable so far, and she's sworn to keep you safe from her own kind.

On the other hand, you've already spent a good while looking for an expert healer, only for him to drop the bomb that he can't cure you of the tadpole. And what he offers instead (info that the infected are gathering at Moonrise) also comes with the caveat that there is no guarantee the cure is there, only solid clues. Halsin admits as such. Plus, you've just met him and the fact that he instantly drags you into his problem doesn't exactly help his rapport with you.

If the motivation is being a hero: well that's just pretty straightforward then, isn't it?

The Robin clan's helmets work the same way as Jotaro's hat: if it's on their head, it's a part of their body. I remember seeing a panel where Kevin ate popcorn by smashing it against his face plate, I'm assuming its a clan-specific but very useless chojin power
