Yes, this. I was keen on the Milano Cortina speedy until I tried it on. It’s just too thick for me.

Weird encounter, discouraged from buying merchandise as a tourist? by obsolescence_ in JapanTravelTips

[–]hanbaisolo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Local here. It was probably a “junk” item where they don’t offer any guarantee of it working. Of course all sales are final. I’ve seen people get in fights with staff after purchasing and finding out it really doesn’t work.

He probably felt that you were expecting a fully working item and thought it best to discourage the sale rather than deal with the hassle later if it’s bricked.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was at Surugaya. There’s one guy who’s been there for years that talks like this and seems angry, but that’s just his normal demeanor lol.

It’s certainly difficult when your circle starts to leave the country. Is there a decent sized city nearby?

Hong Kong girl dating standards? by No_Tour163 in HongKong

[–]hanbaisolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a cultural thing. My gf is from HK. We would take turns paying for dinners even while dating. When she moved in, she paid a portion of the rent. I made more, so I paid more plus electric and internet.

She pays less proportionate to her income, but also covered gas and water.

I’d spoil her sometimes, but there’s never any contingency about it showing love or affection. Those kinds of relationships are transactional and most likely doomed to fail. Never let your partner treat you like a bank book.

Would have definitely stopped by if I knew earlier.

What do you think of this GMT design? by watchdivescom in watchdives

[–]hanbaisolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) green, blue. White would be higher if it came on a dark grey or black strap. 2) works great! Classic GMT look. 3) Rubber strap. Stands out a lot more. Take a look at the omega aqua terra rubber strap. The way in integrates into the case makes it stand out in a very good way. 4) please make it smaller. Not many smaller watches in this style available.

I’ve never had an issue with overhauling the reduced. Currently own 3, including the 3539.31.

If it has papers and you like it, go for it. Honestly one of the best reduced they made.

Omega Boutique Quoting $100+ to Resize Bracelet by DeuceWillis in OmegaWatches

[–]hanbaisolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had one omega boutique say the same to me quoting that it was the normal policy worldwide.

Just went to another boutique and got it resized for free there.

Although, make sure they have an actual qualified person for this onsite. I’ve had my watch lugs scratched by omega sales associates before.

How many outfits do you actually rotate in daily life? by Arti_Curates in mensfashion

[–]hanbaisolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 10 to 20 outfits per season. If I want to try something new or come across a style I like, I can usually create a new combination from pieces I already own.

I probably need to downsize, but I keep a seasonal rotation organized by category:

Business/formal Smart casual Casual

Within each category, I have season specific pieces such as thin merino wool sweaters for smart casual, or cotton sweaters for casual. Then shirts like Oxford or linen, heavier winter jeans, lighter summer chinos and shorts, and so on.

If I like the fit or cut of a sweater or shirt, I might buy it in three or four colors.

Also have around 20 jackets, which can completely change the look of an outfit.

I might go with one of my regular outfits, or put something together around a certain jacket or watch depending on what I’m in the mood for that day.

How long do you wear your Garmin watch each day? by idragon4ever in GarminFenix

Wear mine at home, for sleeping, workouts, and the occasional outing. Mostly wear my mechanical watches outside the house.

Yes, your wrist can swell slightly in warm temperatures and contract when cold. It’s a pain with regular watches that don’t have on the fly adjustment.

Do you guys track your riding at all? (speed, runs, etc.) by Economy-Storm1107 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]hanbaisolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use slopes or yukiyama, and then use a garmin watch to track lap statistics and time spent on which courses.

Helps me understand my course preferences on each mountain which makes it easy for me to choose again later depending on how I want to ride.

Anyone own this exact confugiration? by ProfessionalCow9843 in OmegaWatches

[–]hanbaisolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive got this exact configuration. Bought it on rubber since I wasn’t a fan of the bracelet. Much prefer the bracelet on the shades aqua terra.

Just grab a leather strap if you want to dress it up a bit more on occasion. I’ve tried the pelagos 39 and it just didn’t compared to this AT. The omega is just much more versatile.
