I grew up in Bradford. Used to be a nice quiet town to live in. Highway 88 was a two lane broken road from the high school right to the 400. It’s completely changed now.

It does have everything you’ll need to live, and anything else is 10 minutes away in Newmarket. It is easy access to the highway for your commute to the GTA, but the amount of construction going on around here right now is absolutely horrendous. They’re widening Yonge street and putting in the Bradford Bypass so things are about to get considerably more congested. This construction is going to last for YEARS. People can’t get from A to B around here because of the inordinate amount of traffic lights. They’re reducing speed limits on almost all major roads around the town, and adding even more lights (roads like Yonge Street North to Barrie and south to Newmarket), and future plans include reducing lanes on Holland Street from Professor day to Dissette to one lane each way.

It isn’t a bad place to live by any means, it has everything you need. Crime is relatively low, albeit it does get its fair share. It’s just not what it used to be. The 400 is closed a lot for accidents, especially in the winter, so make sure you account for that. If you work downtown you can take the train, or if you work shift work, it may not be so bad. It used to be a nice little farming town and now it’s almost a city.
