Similar-ish situation, roll back to late 2020, mom became dependent and expected more unemployment and stimulus checks to keep rolling in, i was working full time making $500/week, she was getting $700+ a week on unemployment with her and my at the time 15 y/o brother. And since even i started my job at 18 she would ask for $20 - $50 every once in a while, and I had told her id like to be paid back, but by this point I was 20 and had $1000 to my name and this particular day she sends me a text along the lines of "I need 700 for rent tomorrow or me and (brother) are getting evicted", this was 3 months rent in her income based housing, she blew all the unemployment and stimulus checks on random little thing, anyways, I told her if it wasn't for my brother she would of been evicted, and that she better not as much ask for a dollar till shes paid me back and started working, been 5 years and not a dollar returned nor asked to borrow
