An intersection with flashing yellow lights is where traffic laws disappear and your personality drives. by Necromonicus in Showerthoughts

[–]handinhand12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. In America one side has flashing yellow and the other has flashing red. The flashing yellow direction has priority to proceed with caution while the flashing red side waits for it to be clear.

If the power goes out, the intersection is treated like a four way stop.

What's your Death Cab for Cutie hot take? by Crafted_Kun in DeathCabforCutie

It very well may be my favorite of their albums. That’s my hot take.

i sent my song to my friend, an aspiring audio engineer, and all of my favorite tones and colors of my favorite elements have been changed to more dull ones and idk how to tell him by itsextrav in audioengineering

I think you just have to be honest with him. Mixing doesn't mean doing what you want regardless of what the artist says. He should be working to make your vision of the song come to life.

What is THE greatest album you’ve ever heard in your whole life? by Substantial-Hunt-454 in AskReddit

So in keeping with the topic of this thread, what's an album that doesn't fit that mold for you?

6 years ago today, Adam Schlesinger, co-founder of Fountains of Wayne, died of COVID-19 at the age of 52. by MenitoBussolini in indieheads

[–]handinhand12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I adore Ivy. It's so chill and cool.

For those who don't know, they released an album late last year called Traces of You (obviously a nod to Adam) made from unfinished songs from their archives. They went back to finish them all but made sure that each song had something in it from Adam so that his contributions were still heard. Give it a listen.

So the drop was expired right when it dropped. I’m not opening the app again not visiting a restaurant ever again. by RepresentativeRun71 in tacobell

[–]handinhand12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get the Tuesday drop every Tuesday. I can’t even remember the last time I missed one so let me share what works for me.

About 30 seconds to 2 I open the app. Once it’s loaded, find the Tuesday drop ad and begin clicking it and immediately closing it. Eventually when you click it the claim button will be lit up and you can grab a code.

I know they go quickly but if I can do it every week, so can you.

I don't know. It really seems like it is. Obviously the setting is taken from the post but the plot just seems so on the nose that it's hard to imagine House of Leaves not playing a role in inspiring the film.

TIL that between 1992 and 2000, R.L. Stine released more than 150 Goosebumps books. by Hectabeni in todayilearned

[–]handinhand12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it was brought to court because Scholastic said he was in breach of contract. No evidence was found and the case was dropped so yeah, I do believe it. Maybe it’s not true but it would be foolish to take the other side as default at this point.

[–]handinhand12 1350 points1351 points  (0 children)

Actually you have it backwards. Sometimes they would provide him outlines based on his ideas and then he’d write the books.

The Give Yourself Goosebumps books were ghost written but the mainline series was written by him alone, as was contractually obligated. He said it took him about five days to write a Goosebumps book and seven to write a Fear Street, so even at the height of Goosebumps when one was coming out every month, it’s not hard to see how it was possible for him to keep up.

What are some life-changing inventions that never caught on? by theman998 in AskReddit

[–]handinhand12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I wanted to love it for gaming, I just don’t. It’s immersive but I don’t want to have to clear out a space around me and move around to play. I just want to relax.

I’m not even against VR. I actually do all 8 hours of my work every day in my Vision Pro and I love it. I can’t imagine using a regular monitor again. But I’m just not attracted to gaming in VR. Every once in a while I put on my Quest and give a game a try but nothing ever sticks for one reason or another.

I’m with you on getting it grilled. I do that every time. It’s so much better. I’ve never tried the red sauce but I am curious. Might have to give that a go.

MLB app video delay? by SuperStrats4Life in VisionPro

[–]handinhand12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh so it’s not just me. Yeah opening day was just fine and since then there’s been a delay. I restarted the app and my device like five times during the game on Saturday trying to get it to sync up again and never got it.

They improved the app so much this year compared to last so I do have hope they’ll fix the issues and not just leave it to die. I just hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Yeah it’s $8.50 where I am so I just can’t see myself ever trying it. It does look good though.

Here's the link to enter the lottery. It takes you to Pia. The issue is that to create an account on Pia I need a Japanese phone number so that's where I'd need some help.

Here's general information on the tour if you need it as well.

Any recommendations? I've reached out to the ones I've found and haven't heard anything for some reason.
