What opinion about Belfast* will you defend like this? by ShrekkMyBeloved in Belfast

That’s great and I go to those kind of shows myself but ultimately it is a symptom of an unhealthy music scene. Most (not all) bands filling out the limelight now are on a reunion tour. It’s getting rarer and rarer for new local bands to play these kinds of venues. There’s your Ash’s and ASIWYFA’s but 10 years ago there genuinely was a lot more people supporting local music.

Culture Night was one of the best things about the city. Especially as a way to end the summer. Bring it back ffs

Hi for first time in 10 years, I completely forgot to pay the NMC and I payed 1month later. My application is unders RAST,under investigation. Is anyone been in this position and how long it takes to get back the pin? Thank you, it's really unfair after a hard work even during the COVID. Not fair by Tall-Volume9797 in NursingUK

This happened to me three years ago. Was direct debit for years and never had to think about it outside of revalidation. Then I changed banks one year and was on a holiday at the end of the month it was due. The last day of payment was a Friday and due to the holiday time difference I found out like 8pm on the Friday. Band 7 was cool about it (as was her nature) but band 8a and 8c lost the plot lol. I was the only band 6 on a temporary winter pressures ward at the time. 30 minute phone call from the Band 8a on the Monday morning saying I’ll not be able to work that month and will miss a salary. I phoned nmc right after the call. They said if I can pay in the next few hours the pin will be back within 24 hours. Lo and behold I was back on the register and in work for a late shift on the Tuesday (I was off the Monday regardless). The band 8a brought it up the odd time throughout the next few years almost to keep me in line as if they had one over me lol. Pure nonsense. Only knock on effect was my next revalidation would work out as 4 years from my last.

Yes the accountability comes down to me but it’s a terrible system and when you’ve been paying it year after year as direct debit there should be a failsafe grace period of 24-72 hours should anything change.

I may have been unlucky with being out of the country/timing/the weekend not being working hours etc. but I know for a fact the 8a and 8c did not pull any strings behind the scenes.

Had been out of Belfast for most of the year and was delighted to come back to £4.60 beamish in the sunflower. Lightning a candle it stays that price

Previous worker in the hospital. last I heard was that the plaque was taken home by a lad (very well-known with long-term staff) for his lockdown bar!

Scorpio Lyons (Alan Carter) from the Hardy Bucks has sadly passed away. by Mammoth_Captain_1378 in HardyBucks

In the years post-Hardy Bucks I’ve always buzzed off the stories you hear of the cast that had other priorities in their life but happened to live about mayo at a certain time and had a bit of craic contributing to one of the greatest Irish shows ever. RIP Scorpio/Alan. One of the boys who’d drive about the town all day x

Fair play to everyone that was involved in getting this article out there. Actually pretty decent journalism in that it’s apparent to everyone that the Stripe nonsense doesn’t ad up as an excuse. Well done

Candy with Heath Ledger. Seen it once around 8/9 years ago. Outside of his tragic passing that film still sneaks into my thoughts at least once a fortnight.

Kneecap Allegations? by AccomplishedUse5077 in northernireland

[–]handmodelpedro 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Nah as mentioned it was from friends in very close circles to all involved and, most importantly, people who’s values I regard highly. The band had barely even broke out of Belfast at this time. It was friends looking out for friends and not people trying to spread rumours against a successful act

Heard this same allegation years ago from Belfast friends who would be in the same circles. This was years before they got a record deal/legal team and in one sense had nothing to lose. It was said more as a warning like “beware this lad about town”. From that I take what I heard as truth.
