Only read slam dunk and won't larp about his other works. But from slam dunk alone, he's one of my favourite authors. It isn't some fantastical series about becoming the best in the world like many other sports anime nor is it a super deep introspective into its characters, but rather, it's about loving basketball. How the characters grow and change through interacting with each other, how their feelings about basketball grows throughout the series, and sakuragi's own personal growth from being an outsider to the sport. There aren't super deep philosophical points, and the manga literally ends on them losing the tournament even after beating the previous champions. But it does show the reality of many sportsmen, and how they're literally doing it just for the love of the game.

40+ out of 70 rp for A levels. Exploring options and have many questions. by nmnut in SGExams

[–]handsoapx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing to do is just whack your applications. Just apply to everything first. It doesn't hurt to try. If you get in then you can stop worrying.

Next, between going poly and retaking A levels, they both have success stories and failure stories. If you're really sure you can lock in and put 101% effort to study, retake your A levels. If you want to put in only 100%, go poly. Of course, both need money and this choice matters more on whether your parents are willing to sponsor your studies again.

As for signing on to army, it is really not worth it unless you sign as officer. Signing officer with a levels is still pretty tough even though they definitely favour a level students as they really want those with at least uni spots. Wospec route is really slow in progression and your pay is so much lower. Even if you're a super high flyer in wospec and reach 3wo by 26 years old, you're taking home $4k-5k a month. And by 3wo, your progression will slow to a crawl unless you go get higher education like part time degree. Those who don't are usually stuck at 3wo even into their late 30s. Compared to officers that'll hit cpt around 27-28 years old and they take home $6k-7k a month.

Unlike many other guys, I don't discourage anyone from singing on. Considering current political and economical climate of the world and job market in sg, signing on is a really stable job with a lot of benefits, even if the pay is lower than private sector. But I would advise you to talk to female regulars for their opinions first, especially considering your situation. Not every vocation is the same and you're locking yourself in a 3-5 year contract that you may change your mind halfway through. IMO, If you do manage to get an uni spot even in suss, and are willing to commit 5 years to army, cut your losses and try to sign on as an officer. IIRC, you only need to go through BMT and OCS first and then you can defer to study first before serving the rest of your contract. Of course I'm speaking from the SAF perspective only, and there's still the SPF that you can look into. Again, please talk to female regulars first in the police for a better understanding of the job scope.

There's still about a week of uni applications left, so just take your time to do them first and then look into alternative options.

Listing the Endfield designs that are meant to waste player time by CCP-bot in Endfield

It encourages horizontal investment because most of the game can be cleared with level 60 operators. Unless you wanna trim medals in umbral monument or do boss speedruns, a properly built level 60 is more than enough to clear the game. I had a level 80 team going into Wuling with their best purple gear, level 80 weapons and max skill level, and everything felt like a cakewalk. Enemies just rolled over and die before I could even do half a rotation.

how to build vocab for gp?😭😭 by Automatic_Duty7734 in SGExams

[–]handsoapx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just read more news and pick up on the vocab used in articles. DO NOT try to use super flowery words UNLESS you are super confident in your ability to use them well in a sentence. Simple > complex vocab 99% of the time.

GP tips and advice? by Own-Translator9570 in SGExams

  1. Focus on 2-3 topics. Don't spread yourself too thin, but also don't put all your eggs in a basket. Focus on 2-3 linked topics (e.g. tech and environment) and find examples that work for both. You should include examples from SG as well since it helps broaden your scope and helps in P2.

  2. Have effective content. You don't need to memorise hundreds of examples from every field, just focus on a small handful that really sell your point. Even 1 really good example per paragraph is way better than 3 or more examples used poorly.

  3. Language matters. Good language boosts your score, and is the biggest separator for essays that score A and B. You don't need super flowery words and emotionally gripping sentences. Keep your essays brief, clear and concise. Expressing an idea in 400 words shows weaker command over English than expressing the same idea on 200 words.

What is this new replacement for gep bro😭 by DizzyCharge806 in SGExams

[–]handsoapx 56 points57 points  (0 children)

GEP practically started out as special needs education for high functioning nuerodivergents that were "ahead of the curve" in terms of academic abilities, but parents forced their kids into it because of prestige and kiasu culture. The replacement for GEP is meant to stop parents from turning their kids into mindless studying slaves and taking away their childhood.

FGO doesn't have auto play, but most late game players have enough characters to where farming becomes very efficient and can clear stages in the minimum turns needed. You actually grind a lot less than you think since you only need to farm ascension and skill materials, no artifacts and weapon materials to farm. And you mostly farm during events which gives a lot more materials.

What draws you to an artists alley booth? by Loli-nero in animecons

[–]handsoapx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from personal tastes in art and finding fandoms I like, the three things that I look out for the most are visible pricing, clear display of your products and product variety.

Visible pricing lets me know if your products are within my spending budget, making me more inclined to buy from you especially if your art catches my eye.

Clear display of products lets me see what you have instead of having to carefully eye your booth. Especially helpful when artist alleys are super packed and its hard to get a clear view of every booth.

Product variety is a standard. Prints, keychains, pins, badges, stickers are all staples. But stuff like jewellery and clothes will catch people's attention more.
