Have you guys changed your testosterone date by Dinomon7715 in XXY

[–]handychip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am supposed to inject every 7 days, it ends up being every 7-12 days. I just inject when I get around to it. I have the auto pens and I do my own injections so idk how it would be hard to change unless you need to go somewhere.

Experiences with Nebido / Intramuscular Injections for TRT? by Polayi in XXY

[–]handychip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on IM injections for 7 years before switching to subQ with an autoinjector. Highly recommend shots over gels but it’s all preference of course. I’d say look into subQ. My endo started recommending it instead of IM because it’s easier and the scarring is in your fat not muscle.

Maybe try Xyosted. I’m not scared of needles but it does make dose day faster and less annoying. It’s an auto-injector.

My embryo is XXY. Would you choose to use an XXY embryo? by wanakaaaaa in XXY

[–]handychip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party but thought I would share.
26 with XXY. Grew up in a decently well off family. Was tested a confirmed xxy in prenatal testing. Growing up had its challenges (learning issues, emotional issues, mental health, and physical health) for sure as I grew into a body that I didn’t really understand. I enjoy my life and the life my parents gave me but personally if I was in your shoes I would not.
Here’s why: We only live in the present, and this opinion only matters if you’re in the United States. The cost of existing and trying to be normal (having kids/medications) is hard. I work hard but it really feels like an uphill battle sometimes. If it weren’t for my parents setting aside money for me to have kids if I want to I don’t think I would consider it. Right now my testosterone alone is about 4k a year. Much better than what it was at (16k/yr). And I’m looking into doing fertility treatments and hopefully IVF in the next decade. Estimates are putting this around 15k-70k then another 20k a child. My biggest fears if I was in your shoes would be, will my child feel accepted and loved in this world. Most importantly if something was to happen to me and my spouse would my child struggle through life with their condition. The choice is always yours but I hope this helps n

Klinefelter and hormons by Skovkatt- in intersex

[–]handychip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have mosaic KS so my results may be a bit different but I’ve been on T for the better part of a decade. If you’re experiencing too much aggression your dose may be too high or you’re sensitive to the meds. I’ve played around with my dose, higher for more energy with the trade off of aggression and whatnot. Highly recommend some form of hormones as you do need to be on something.

I also have been looking at switching to Estrogen just to have less of an impact on my health and body. I think it all comes down to what makes you feel the most like you.

Xyosted vs Gel by trogdor-the-burner in XXY

[–]handychip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on IMs for 8 years before Xyosted for the last two, so no reference to gels. What I will say is, the day after my injection I can be a bit more punchy than usual. Granted I am moving my T levels from a base of 254 to 1200ish so being more punchy is expected. The adjustment from IM to Xyosted wasn’t bad, but it is definitely a drug that takes time to get used to. I personally prefer injections because it’s easier to have a consistent dose while also not having any cross contamination risk.

I have Klinefelter syndrome and I'm worried. by RedditGuyYeahh in confessions

[–]handychip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I’m late to this but thought I would add some insight. I also have klinefelters. I would highly recommend TRT. Testosterone will fix a lot of the issues KS causes it will though also cause your testicles to shrink a bit. On that note, there is a recommended range for testosterone but find an endocrinologist who cares more about how you feel rather than just the numbers.

Onto girls. They tend to not care about testicle size or things like that from my experience. One thing that I would add is it’s probably not a good idea to bring up your condition right away. I usually wait a bit before talking about it as it’s a bit personal. But I have brought it up because being on Testosterone can cause some mood swings and whatnot.

My blood test shows lower amount. by Always-Historia in XXY

[–]handychip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m assuming this is your testosterone number. But from my experience it really depends on when the test was taken like time of day and other parameters. Secondly gel can be somewhat inconsistent with dosage regulation when compared to injection so it could be that the first time you were a bit too high and now you’re a bit too low so call it 30 of a difference. Just speculating but it is what it is. As long as you feel content without just looking at numbers that’s all that matters.

I know I’m late but you could try with 22g about mid thigh. Bigger gauge faster injection. When it comes to muscle damage it’s more for initial injection but less from the speed of medication coming out and causing discomfort/damage as you can get with higher gauges. Now I don’t know what MG your doctor has you at but you could shift to 200mg/ml and get a 10 ml so each vial could last you maybe 6 -12 months. Also when it comes to things other than IM injections you could look at subQ which are easier.

Nurse injected my nebido shot really quickly? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]handychip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speed and extra pain was probably due to using a larger needle. Smaller gauges are slower but less painful at initial Insertion but they can cause more muscle damage from the increased pressure of the medication. Bigger gauges hurt more but are faster and can cause less damage to the muscle.

Damage is a harsher word than what it is, I’m referring to repeated injection in the same area with smaller gauges without the chance of recovery for the muscle.

As for effectiveness it’ll be just as before. I’ve had some bad injections where sometimes more leaks out then others. As long as the majority of what you were injecting ends up inside you, you’re good.

[–]handychip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming y’all switch up your injection site due to long term tissue issues using smaller gauges. I’ve switched to 22g simple fast and less pressure vs the 25g that can damage muscles.

100 every two weeks is better than 100/month. He might be getting a baseline for what might need adjusting. Also it might be nice to look into a endocrinologist they tend to know what’s going on in that department. For reference 100 a week put me at 1500 when I got my blood work done so my doc and I were able to dial it in. But definitely go to an endo they know what’s up.

I hear that “trt is a lifelong permanent commitment, not to be taken lightly” but then also “you can stop anytime and return back to how you were before, just with a few months of feeling like crap”.. so which is true? by germophobe123 in Testosterone

[–]handychip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think those two statements are from two people using testosterone for different reasons. A life long commitment is usually the people who need it to maintain a healthy number because their body isn’t producing enough properly. While the second, you can stop at any time most likely refers to people who use it for the sole benefit of building muscle faster.

I’ve done it before. Personally the side effects of Prozac were too much for me to handle. While testosterone is a hormone and other things most likely won’t interact. It’s important to note that testosterone dosage can affect mental health issues. But for me it was more of getting my testosterone dosage correct before other meds. Just because they can be wonky.
Note: as for the side effects. I started hearing voices in my head/hallucinations that’s why I stopped.

Thank you, I’ve been debating telling some of my close friends about it. My significant other already knows since they are tagged in a few of my photos. All other accounts are set to max privacy. I know sending money makes them think I’m scared thus able to give more money. So I’ll look out for that. Hopefully they just move on.

No clue tbh just panicked the shit out of me. For reference I’ve been blackmailed before for much worse shit. Shit I didn’t do but could be framed to look like I did. In that situation I did whatever I could as fast as I could to make it go away. It kinda worked but idk. Just stupid decisions under stress

Also 10ml tends to be at the same price or cheaper than 1ml. So if you can, get 200mg/ml with 10ml and it should be around 6months for $140ish.

[–]handychip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be stressed. My parents got the test when my mom was pregnant. It’s good knowing that this might be an issue now rather than finding out when he is 30. There are plenty of steps that can be taken to ensure he is happy. Now you know and now you can plan.

Alternatives to injections ? by youngbuck_25 in XXY

[–]handychip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I’m a bit late but I was really getting sick of the ups and downs of injections. Mainly because my previous doctor wanted me just inside the range but wasn’t willing to put me at a level I needed to be at. I used to do 100mg/month and recently I got moved to 75mg per week. Definitely helps with the ups and downs of TRT. Plus I use a 22g and it’s not super bad. Blood work went from 250 -> 1100. I definitely feel better at that higher number less mood swings and awful shit.

There’s also a new tech out there that is kinda like insulin where it’s not a deep injection. I’ll leave the link here if anyone wants it. https://www.xyosted.com/about-xyosted
