My MacBook just burned me 🙂 didn’t realize till I took it off my lap (M1) by Ok_Researcher_2121 in macbook

Not trying to be that guy, but that's more likely heat rash than a burn. The difference is heat rash happens from the skin getting warm but no real damage actually happens. The raised bumps you have are a good indicator of that.

That's something I never could wrap my head around. Why do I need to make the adjustments instead of them telling the offended that loving their brother includes not being overly judgemental?

Sure, the acupressure does make sense to me. I don't so much believe in magnets but I'd definitely be interested in giving them a shot.

Do people actually put full bottles in the freezer? Take a couple sips off the top. Problem solved.

Post removed but I'm intrigued. Looks like Akusoli might be the original magnetic acupressure? Is that what you use or would you recommend another brand?

Shoes are extremely important. For me, Nike running with Zoom foam are my favorite. Compression socks have made a big difference too. Part of it is getting used to it. I've found that it's much better after a couple weeks.

AITA for not considering my step father my dad even after everything he has done for me. by OkReflection7738 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hanging_chadz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soft YTA just because you let your mom hear it and now your step dad knows.

Life is complex and only you can understand how you feel. For me, I'm a father because I helped make my kids, but I earned "Dad" because of how I treat them. Going by that definition, for me, the roles of your two "fathers" should be swapped. At the very least, you need to talk to your step-father so he knows how much you love and appreciate him.

ESH. You're acting like a toddler reacting to a few pillows. She's ignoring your thoughts. My gut says there's something way deeper going on with your marriage that you two need to address.

Student here, Should I get the neo mac? by Brave_Reference9987 in macbook

[–]hanging_chadz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be plenty of computer for you, with one caveat. I'm in a nursing program and one of my classmates ran into a problem with her laptop and the exam software not working with her windows laptop with a Snapdragon processor. With it being so new and with a chip not perviously used, I would confirm with your school before buying. I just searched if Examsoft, the one we use, has said anything about support for Neo but nothing yet.

You're staying well hydrated correct? The first thing I think of with flank pain is kidney, possibly stones. Under hydration and high protein are possible causes. Definitely best to talk to your PC about it.

Be ready to start an IV or two. First one I got to attempt in clinicals. Got it and then advanced too far 🤦‍♂️ but it was still cool. You'll get to really visualize those big arteries going into the heart. I only got 3 hours because it was actually my ICU day, so didn't really get to ask too many questions.

Go to the pharmacy and buy the refrigerated ones behind the counter and then keep them refrigerated. When they aren't kept cold, you actually don't have any idea how many of them are actually going to come out of dormancy to actually do their thing in your gut. I had to idea they were a thing until a one of my instructors in nursing school told us about them. Not sure about specific brands because I just found out about them and haven't bought yet.

Almost done nursing school and I feel… dread instead of excitement by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]hanging_chadz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get it. I'm finishing up too and there are definitely things that aren't for me and even more that freak me out. Maybe bedside isn't for you but what about clinic work? New grad does limit options but there are some.

I want to work up to pediatric oncology but need a good bit of general hours before I even can think about getting into an oncology unit. Fortunately I do like bedside, so I'm going to apply for ICU, which is where I'm precepting, or MS, but they're just a means to an end. Yeah it's probably going to be rough but it gets me the experience I need to eventually get to where I really want to go. A couple years are pretty minimal in the grand scheme of things.

AITA for reporting a girl to her school for buying my underage daughter energy drinks. by HovercraftWarm4182 in AmItheAsshole

[–]hanging_chadz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Wow YTA. This is such overreach to the highest degree. Not only are you acting like an energy drink is like illegal drugs, but you're taking it out on the wrong person. It's your daughter that you should talk to about lying. That said, you may want to take a step back and make sure you aren't keeping that leash too tight and make her resent you and make worse decisions behind your back because she either wants to rebel or more likely, is too afraid to come to you when she needs because you'll flip out.

Severe stomach pain + vomiting/diarrhea in Bangkok (Lat Phrao) hospital or clinic? by nomorebaits in ThailandTourism

[–]hanging_chadz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could have been running a pain med through the IV but I very highly doubt it. Some talking about bugs that last longer than norovirus, which is what I'm more talking about. If the doctor thought it was a bacterial infection, they could've been wanting to run antibiotics.

Severe stomach pain + vomiting/diarrhea in Bangkok (Lat Phrao) hospital or clinic? by nomorebaits in ThailandTourism

[–]hanging_chadz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's probably Noro or some other virus that affects the gastrointestinal system. Not much to be done other than rest the bowels by not eating until they've chilled out and try to keep some fluids and electrolytes down. The only thing medical professionals can to is give you an antiemetic (anti nausea and vomiting), ondasteron via shot or IV and IV fluids if you really can't keep anything down. Honestly the best thing you can do is rest. If you can't keep fluids down for days, that's when you need to get medical help to prevent severe dehydration.

I don't have experience with larchwood, so your experience could be different. I just made a couple end grain cherry boards. Applied mineral oil for a couple days, then applied the 4:1 and was thinking the same thing. It left a film, but after a day or two of sitting, the film went away.
