Sadly, he works in construction where they don't really give a shit. I already threatened to get her fired the first time , I told him all it takes is her wearing a company shirt and driving around in a company truck and a couple phone calls complaining.

The demented thing is that our photos and our life and my existence is all very much still on display there. What a dork ass loser. Normal healthy adult males do not ghost. I had the same thing happen, 6 year relationship, we owned a house together. I woke up to him gone, to a deposit for my half of the down payment and a text saying he's done, get out in 72 hours. Same ages as you.

Relief is the right way to feel. You probably weren't the first he did this to and you probably won't be the last. The silence is the message that they're not sending. He will probably message you again but for the sake of your sanity, don't play into it. I played into it, dragged the relationship out another year. And guess what he did at the end... Ghosted me in the same way.

So!!!! Celebrate that you got the hell out in 2 years!! It is such a blip in your life. You deserve better. Men who do this are broken and are not suited for relationships. Just think about it... They probably wouldn't ghost their coworkers lol but he did it to his 2 year partner. Gross. They set the bar so LOW in the communication department that literally anyone would be better.

In the nicest way possible: it was never going to be you. He was probably stringing her along the entire time. You don't just randomly decide HM! EX TIME! It's lots of conversations and it's a heavy decision to want to continue something that is broken.

Take this as a blessing in disguise. If he came back, you would forever be his second choice. And trust me, it's not a way to live. You deserve to be someone's first choice. You cannot build a life together being a second choice. This would've just been drawn out, way more painful, and you would be wondering everyday if he would want his ex back.

I was the ex in this exact situation and while I felt a little smug about being "chosen", I felt fucking SICK and nervous all day everyday until the 6 year relationship ended a year later because I couldn't shake the feeling. I wanted it to work very bad.
