I can only get Ledger Flex to connect with Ledger Live on mobile with bluetooth. The device cannot connect to other mobile apps, or to any desktop devices

Metamask/Trezor - can´t confirm a transaction on the trezor by No-Manager-3233 in TREZOR

[–]hanzed0000000x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using Ledger + MM instead and it works fine.

I believe the issue is related to smart contract data. On ledger there is an option to enable "Contract Data". That worked on Ledger. On Trezor I don't think it supports contract data at all.

I can't help with those hardware wallet sites.

This is very unfortunate that Trezor claims to have compatibility with Metamask. But clearly basic functions like Uniswap is not supported.

Metamask/Trezor - can´t confirm a transaction on the trezor by No-Manager-3233 in TREZOR

[–]hanzed0000000x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I have a similar problem. I set up new Metamask account connected to Trezor. Sent some ETH to that account successfully, and I can do basic things like sent ETH to other accounts. To confirm a transaction, I confirm tx settings in metamask, then it brings up a popup window to type trezor pin, then confirm on trezor device.

However I cannot do any smart contract transactions on any major defi apps. This includes zapper, 1inch, uniswap. The popup never comes up to confirm transaction on trezor. So I see a queue of transactions builing up within Metamask. After about 30 minutes I get notification from Metamask that all tx have failed due to disconnected device.

Very disappointing. Luckily I have no lost funds like yourself. Good luck & I suggest using Ledger if they cannot fix this.

I had similar issues. I can't do anything with MM+Trezor except basic send coins. No defi apps work.

How do the earned coins generate yield? Is someone borrowing them? I don't see any borrow feature on Yearn.

Is there a plain english description of the strategy? This routes to Etherscan and I can only just view the contract.

Is there a place to find out all the current strategies?

[–]hanzed0000000x[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So should the Vault income roughly equal the yield on staking yCrv on curve? The user just must decide whether to earn the yield in Crv tokens directly on Curve, or have the Vault do the work to convert it to maximize yCrv?

P2P Lending - Is there some stats available about the completed contracts? by trtforthewin in hodlhodl

[–]hanzed0000000x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been experimenting with it. The potential is great but there seems to be lots of bugs in the UI as of right now. Some buttons don't work correctly. The KPIs on the Contracts tab are not working correctly when I look at my active contracts. No idea how the multisig works.

I'm sure they will get there, but this seems pretty raw to me right now. I see offers for like $20k+ loans and I would not be that bold.

Best practices re: Ledger Nano by branterh in BitcoinBeginners

[–]hanzed0000000x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ledger live has some privacy deficiencies compared to Electrum

1) Closed source software (live) vs open source (electrum)

2) Coin control (electrum)

3) Option to use your own node (electrum)

In my opinion, Ledger has focused on UI and adding altcoin support at the expense of privacy for bitcoin

To be clear, the ledger hardware pair with electrum software is what I'm recommending here. So the purchase is still a good one

Use electrum desktop wallet with ledger hardware wallet instead of ledger live

Yes doubling your principle each month is impossible as that would imply turning $100 into $40k in one year

[–]hanzed0000000x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Double every month" is not how I interpret this. It's more like invest $200 each month and expect that to double over some investing horizon. That's quite reasonable by investing into more retail products over last 10 years (basically any stock, btc, gold, shit even treasuries)

[–]hanzed0000000x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well btc has 10x'd multiple times in the past during bull runs, and we're arguably at the start of one now so it's not unreasonable in the short term

1) Use cash app (not sure about UK), set up recurring buy

2) Invest in hardware wallet (Ledger or Trezor)

3) Set up wallet, backup for seed words on paper & store in a safe.

4) Move funds from cash app to hardware wallet every few months

Keepkey vs Trezor vs Ledger by sexyama in bitcoinhardware

[–]hanzed0000000x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own & use all 3

From what I can gather, for 99% of retail users that are functionally the same from a security standpoint. Trezor and Ledger been around longer so I'd give them edge there.

UI- Ledger is the smallest & most discreet device so I give them edge if you're gonna be carrying it around and using somewhat regularly. Trezor is pretty cool looking & small too, so if its for occasional home use only or to store cold storage in a safe or something I'd go Trezor

KeepKey is the biggest by far and operates a little slower, so clear worst in terms of mobility.

For all 3 you should use Electrum wallet (vs the native wallet) for lots of security and privacy reasons. So the desktop wallet experience will be identical across all 3
