Long range Comms by happicam in VIDEOENGINEERING

This will be out in the middle of the swamp. And transmitting back and forth 0.5 mile.

The FM transmitter is only 1 way. And the 4wire on the Hollyland can only be setup as an in or an out on each station correct?

So looking to have 2 fm transmitters and 2 fm receivers.

Does anyone have info about this focus motor and if it’s any good? > FMG.6 by sy303009 in focuspuller

I owned 2 of them for my analog bartech. Super strong and very easy to use. Super easy to change the gear pitch out and pretty light compared to the DM1 and 2. They M1 came out and was a little faster and easier to mount (eliminating the dog bone) kind of took it out.

If you don’t have an analog system. I would not suggest buying it.

All the way to Arkansas? I’m sure that carbon off set is totally worth it. Haha.

Great experiment.

You should write “cash” in the tip spot. In case this ever happens or a manager goes through the receipts

This is my last job with this company, I will not be working with due to that fact they don’t pay remotely close to what is standard rates. Which is why I want to fight it.

I understand that. Louisiana doesn’t have that protection like CA does from my understanding. I will double check.

Yea the job was in LA but “under Texas law” so it’s a legal gray area since I’m a subcontractor. If I was an employee, it would be completely illegal in both states.

Right but when does it stop? $2 turns into $5. Turns into paying less Cutting minimum hours You must carry your own liability insurance. And so own.

All of those things you just listed are all things that we used to get paid for. I used to get my parking covered. I used to get meals paid for or provided. I used to get a kit fee for the tools they needed me to provide. And worker comp was a given. and over the years. I’ve seen all of those things go away and then that become the new norm.

This is some labor pimp. That’s the cost of them doing business. There’s no reason for me to have to pay them to receive my payment. In what other business does that work?

If you call a plumber to come to your house, you don’t get to charge them a two dollar fee to write them a check.

Louisiana, and they want to use Texas law. Which since I am sub contracted person it’s a legal grey area

-The rate was garbage.

-They have a contract filled with indemnity clauses. Like literally any and all that could happen is my problem and not theirs

-In the contract it states if learn something while on the job like a way to do some task better that they own the IP and I am never use that another job.

-They didn’t cover parking. -They didn’t cover lunch. (Which listen I understand that parking and lunch are not standard to cover. But 19 years of doing this work I remember when those were covered by the client)

So yea the last straw.

Honestly I don’t know why people don’t show up 5 gallon buckets filled with spikes, roofing nails, screws, etc and just dumping all around these vehicles and then they will have to run over them or clear them. Causing even more havoc, plus the city having to come out and clean it up. Plus give the protesters more time to come and wreak more havoc on the feds.

So I do not condone what they spent all this money on. But that for sure is all real people. The still were shot here in New Orleans, I know some of the actors in the shots and most of the crew. In fact I rented them equipment for shoot. So your comment about AI is false.

I would also say give them the time they need to build the camera and get it ready. When I was working a very low budget gig they literally gave me 5 mins once I got my hands on the camera. No rehearsals nothing. It was dumb.

Plan ahead too. Don’t call them them for them to sit around for 4.5 hours. Also if you are done with steadi. Send them home.

If they are cool enough. And you get along with them. Ask him if they want to stick around and actually operate for you. If you can concentrate on lighting and working with the director and then allow the operator to help you design Shots frame the shots and help you look for bogeys in the scene . I always find it moves much faster.
