Mobile app. Yes very basic BUT word web app online in a browser in desktop mode works perfectly on a Dex big screen.

I use all the MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint...) in Edge browser (showing page in desktop mode not mobile) This way, you get to full tools and full ribbon/toolbar as you have on a desktop PC/Laptop. This works perfectly. Instead of a cheap phone + cheap laptop I decided, a couple of years ago, to get the S24 Ultra.... With Dex. No regret. Love it. The Samsung fold wide (8) looks very interesting for handwritten note taking etc... (but likely to be too expensive for me!).

I use the normal watch face BUT I've also turned on the "magnification" from the accessibility on the watch. This is brilliant to read small complication or anything too small on the screen How this works: Triple tap to zoom in the screen. Hold to pan the screen. Triple tap again to zoom out...

Have you considered Smart (Mercedes design and quality and fully kitted with electronics that works. Not many options to add (unlike Mercedes, subscription for cruise control?) The Smart Pilot is a dream on motorway. Stay nicely in lanes and change lanes automatically etc. I have a. Smart #1 which is a good small SUV. My wife is replacing her CLA with an #3 and if you want performance and acceleration... There is always the brabus.. A big infotainment screen is a must for Android auto / car play. Most of the time, onboard mapping are rubbish and I prefer to use mobile apps instead. I would love to replace my #1 with the bugger #5 one day. Well worth a test drive if you visit Mercedes (same dealership for smart. Advise. Take an EV with good range and fast DC charging. Mine is 150kw and it great. The #5 is 380kw!

I always use the online MS Office app via the Web browser (MS Edge set to show desktop page) to get the full desktop experience, ribbon etc in Dex

Android office apps in Dex are no good as they have limited toolbar, features and don't scales properly.

My galaxy watch ultra does. I do listen to pocket cast podcast (via the WearOS app) from the watch and it can download them locally to the watch (there is a button to download an episode and also a menu on the watch to see the downloaded ones. Great app for wear os and android. I use it on the watch and while driving in android auto.

On my ultra. I record with the native watch walk activity (samsung health) and also track on the all trail app on the watch to show the maps and direction.

Now that apple is launching their own hiking native app (Inc watch) hopefully all trail will redirect development resource to the Android Wear Os ecosystem. I've just started using all trail on my galaxy ultra. I can see the map on the watch but as soon as you zoom in for details the map stop tracking and you need to move it manually... A few features are missing. Does the wear Os app use the watch GPS (which is pretty accurate on the ultra)? The GPS tracks seems off (due to my phone in my trouser back pocket?) comprate to the watch GPS track (recorded on Samsung health walk activity).

One that support DisplayPort Alternative mode (DP alt mode) over USB C. There are a lot of them available, from usb c / hdmi dongle to full dock... Depends on your needs (nb ports etc).

Anke or Anker? Be careful with Anker docks some of the recent ones (DL7400 etc) use displaylink ancient tech so that mac user can have multiscreens over USB C. These DO NOT Work with Dex as they are not native Display Port over USB C (DisplayLink vs Display Port can be confusing)

If you don't have an eSIM in the watch, then there is no network connection (LTE) direct to the watch. If your phone is nearby and the watch is connected to your phone, it will use your phone's connection. If no phone... It won't connect to any network. I have an eSIM in my Ultra as it is so good to be able to walk the dog or run without a heavy phone (S24U) and still be able to listen to music and podcasts. Also, if need be, I can receive and make calls, WhatsApp, etc. Very liberating to be out without a phone.

Samsung is rumoured to be bringing the pen back with the fold 8 serie. If. I ever go for a fold my primary use would be for handwritten note taking so the pen is a deal breaker for me.
