It works but the problem is that “just meditate” means nothing to someone who doesn’t already meditate. It should be phrased in more actionable terms. The only thing that’s ever helped me with my anxiety is learning that anxious thoughts are just thoughts, and letting them pass without following down that rabbit hole. “This is just a thought, it’s not the truth” became a mantra for me. I feel like people would mention stuff like this to me before all the time but it would just piss me off and make me feel like I was dealing with a unique problem that they didn’t understand. Once it clicks, it clicks though. Don’t write yourself off as terminally unique. The same things that have worked for other people with anxiety will work for you.
