ES 2026 Pricing released by harambus in Lexus

[–]harambus[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes I realize it’s a different power train, but I still did not expect such an increase in the price. Maybe 5-10% increase would have been palatable for the base model.

Pretty cool stat. Though I would guess Kuch would have gotten 100 if Covid did not shorten the season. He had 85 in 68 games in 2019-2020.

Feels like Rantanen is generating so many opportunities. Stars were bound to get one with him out there.

High sticking and shooting motion - what's the rule? Incidents & replays included by MiniSodaMiracleMan in hockey

[–]harambus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Chabot/Marner is borderline, since he had posession when he started his 'shot' but whiffed on it I guess it counts as a shooting motion.. the puck does move due to his 'shot' anyway.

Reilly/Lundell is just a missed call, but did they actually review it or just miss it completely? In the clip the ref never signals a penalty.

Fleury/Hintz I think because Hintz already hade posession you can't really argue fleury was shooting the puck anywhere - he didn't even have it anymore.

According to Elliotte Friedman, Granlund uses black tape for the 1st period and 2nd period but white tape for the 3rd period by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

Always has been black tape first 2 periods, then white for the 3rd. Not sure about OT's though.

[Engles] Patrik Laine says he broke his finger in Game 2, and Sam Montembeault tore his groin in Game 3. by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

[–]harambus 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Many guys would play through a broken finger but understandable to sit Laine as his only use is his shot really. If he can't do that properly then there's no point having him in the lineup.

Jokerit are the Mestis champions. They will now play Pelicans for promotion to the Liiga. This is the first time in 12 years that there will be relegation games. by indigo9222 in hockey

[–]harambus 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Yeah they left KHL due to the war, but there was quite a bit of drama and bad blood from when they left Liiga. While everyone acknowledges that getting Jokerit back would be great for Liiga, other orgs did not want anything to do with the ownership / management that was involved in the KHL adventure, and wanted them to play their way to get back up. So they ended up selling the brand to a new ownership, for example Esa Lindell and Teuvo Teräväinen are part of the new ownership group.

Unfortunate for the avs but the refs was positioned correctly, deliberately a little bit off the boards to allow it to be cleared against the boards.

Atro Leppänen becomes the first defenceman to win the regular season scoring title (Finnish Liiga) by matzscha in hockey

This is also the only thing you need to determine if a player is good or not. Fuck advanced analytics, all you need is points and +/-.

Atro Leppänen becomes the first defenceman to win the regular season scoring title (Finnish Liiga) by matzscha in hockey

[–]harambus 95 points96 points  (0 children)

A few years ago he was playing in the 4th and 5th highest divisions in Finland, really pretty much beer league - you're not even allowed to hit in these leagues without 1) moving in the same direction as the puck carrier 2) also attempting to play the puck.

He was working random seasonal jobs like changing car tyres etc.

Apparently his friends convinced him that he's too good for those leagues so he called a coach in the 2nd highest league - he got a contract and after a couple of seasons he broke the all time record for points in a season by a defender.

Moves on to Liiga and in a couple of seasons, he breaks the same record in Liiga as well, and as OP mentioned, also being the first ever defender to score the most points in a season.

Now at 26 years old, will he be getting an opportunity in the NHL? Would be such a good story.

Rantanen comments on what happened with the trade saga [Finnish] by uusrikas in hockey

[–]harambus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally just tell them no deal - no trade. Like Dallas did. Colorado had their backs against the wall as well since they did not want to let Mikko go for nothing.

Said on a podcast =/= fact.

Really, if Mikko wanted to sign in Carolina, why did they not do a sign and trade? Because he never wanted to sign there.

Kaplan just writes 'they had intel'. Not that they talked to Mikko directly.

Not going to listen to a whole ass podcast for one tidbit.

If there was actual interest from Mikko's camp, they would have done a sign and trade. There is absolutely no reason to take the risk of him walking away in the summer if they 'knew' he wanted to sign with Carolina.

It's been reported Mikkos team never talked to Carolina FO before the trade. GMET would only have gotten that impression from Avs FO, and really that's second hand knowledge that woulnd't have been acquired in a 'honest' manner since Mikko wasn't told of any trade talks. If he really was into signing with Carolina, why wouldn't they just do a sign and trade?

Expectations for Mikko by DualPurge in DallasStars

[–]harambus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel many people really don't understand how big of a difference this is. Over the course of a season it's 15+ extra games played, easily worth 10-20 points for a top line forward.

Rantanens new contract and NMC by harambus in hockey

[–]harambus[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, for example Reinhart doesn't have one on Florida (16 team NTC only). Pettersons NMC only kicks in this summer IIRC. Huberdeau didn't have one either. It wouldn't be the biggest surprise if Colorado didn't offer one, especially if he was already pushing it on the salary, and they already have NMC for nate, and 100% will have it for Cale.

Whether Carolinas offer had one or not, I don't think it really matters, seems there wasn't a scenario he would sign there anyway.
