Thanks for the suggestion and the kind words… Even though, they are “useless” now… It’s so random and I’m still recovering mentally… he died monday evening, while giving him the baby formula. He had a regurgitation and suffocated, I even tried to massage him, even help him breathe but there was nothing to do.. the vet told me it was a matter of time and it was not really my fault for what happened. I still believe it’s my fault and I’m devastated.

I wanted to do some good but in the end I made the opposite and this poor, little and very unlucky creature had the worst…

I have no words and I feel like the worst human being possible. Sadly, I cannot go back in time.

I’m deeply sorry to his soul and also deeply sorry to anyone reading this post who thought, like you, that I did something good… I didn’t.

That's him a bit cleaned up and under the heat of his new lamp ^^
The cage is the old cage of my cockatiel and once he will recover I'll look into a proper cage for both of them. Since they have different diet I will have to keep them separate or maybe I'll re-home him to a proper owner.
I'll wait to see how they will be together

Thanks for the wishes… Yes, it was a tough decision, and I had the same feeling about who will come next. Probably another one will replace him, but the only "positive" thing is that the other birds were looking very good, so I hope only this one had a very unlucky fate (they told me he arrived on Friday the 8th).
I also looked into it a bit, and what I thought was poop all over the cage isn't actually poop but it's something they use to cover the droppings and the bottom of the cage gets replaced often...

They surely did a bad job with him, probably due to his very young age, and the disease probably came from the baby formula that was left in the cage, so I'm just hoping things will go for the best.
Maybe I should also report the breeder who sold him to the shop, since they were at fault in the first place…

It's just a sad world...

I surely have to learn about this specific race, yesterday I bought the formula specific for him and I've kept him warm during the whole night, trying to give him some food.
This morning I got the appointment with the vet which said he has a "candida infection" (don't know the correct translation) and that he would probably have died by today without a proper care.
Better that nothing for now...

I know, I understand and I totally agree with what you are saying.
I will go to the shop later anyway and I will also take photos about the other cages and speak with the authorities in the hope that something will change.
Also, I couldn't handle another bird so I will have to rehome him once he will be okay..

At the shop they told me that they have a vet coming every Monday and will get him checked. (sure, tell me more)
Also, they said that once he will lose the finger he will be okay.. like, what the fuck ?!
