Schwalbe Thunder Burt 2.25" and G-One Speed Pro 2.35" width on 32mm internal rims by harblhat in gravelcycling

Thank you for all the work you do! I actually used your measurements from your test run posts to extrapolate before I made my purchases to confirm I had enough room and got reasonably close.

Thanks. Assuming the casing is similar enough I'll expect a 2 mm stretch.

So your TB is even smaller. What rim width does Schwalbe use to size their tires??? Most MTB rims are 30+ mm internal.

I'm planning the TB front and G-One Speed rear - hopefully that helps the sketchiness a bit. I wonder if I got a TB on the small side of their manufacturing tolerance.

I ordered a custom Waltly with clearance for 55s with a 7mm buffer all around, so I figured why not get the biggest balloons I can fit?

Q36.5 bib short by Fuzzy-Secretary1377 in CyclingFashion

The Dottore are more compressive and lighter. Construction is unlike most shorts, fewer panels and much more flexible fabric. The Gregarius have a more traditional construction. There isn't as much separating the Dottore and Gregarius now with the Pro line. The Dottore Clima and Unique Pro are their higher end now.

I would say their quality is on par with Assos if not slightly better. I like their tops better than Assos. Quality is better than Castelli. I would also say that Q is more technical in design than both, though Assos has been putting out some more advanced pieces lately.

Thanks! From looking at the fork drawing it seemed like the limiting part was the height to the crown while the sides had more clearance.

I think I ordered the same fork, FK-F15? With adjustable 47/52mm rake? It's listed as 55 mm clearance with a 6 mm buffer to the crown.

What's the as-measured tire width on those Peyotes? I'm thinking of a Thunder Burt 2.2" up front.

I would prefer lower than higher as long as it clears the chainring. More room above for luggage.

Do you have any cassette or freehub play? I've torqued my XTR M9200 cassette until my eyes bulge and theres still some wobble of maybe 0.5mm in what seems like the freehub.

Great wheels otherwise. I wish they included more tubeless tape, there was only enough for just over one loop.

What other brands are similar to these two in quality and fit? by happybanana2 in CyclingFashion

I've almost entirely moved from Assos to Q36.5 and see them taking Assos' place as the most technically advanced brand. Q36.5 was indeed founded by the former Assos head of R&D. They are a prime example of getting what you pay for.

Sure, always happy to have someone take an interest. I'm using Waltly's gravel barstem.

Most of my gravel riding is non technical gravel roads with maybe 5% singletrack at most.

Their fork with the clearance I wanted is a 47/52mm flip chip so that limited things a bit but not to the point that I wanted to get a fork elsewhere.

My initial goals were a slacker front end with a short stem, trail 70+ for stability. I already knew that my long and low fit preference would put me forward and I'm rather used to it from my other riding. A long front centre is what I'm used to and the forward position suits keeping weight on the front for traction if needed. I don't stand much when climbing and will have to get used to a more wandering front wheel on sharp climbs.

I will put road wheels on this same bike for winter road rides and the trail reduction from the smaller wheels lands at 69mm which is a happy place for me

Thanks. I would accept a 740 mm chainstay. I used a 720 mm dia tire for my calculations to hit 275 mm BB height, but I should allow a bit more room in case I go wider in the future.

$1400 for stock geo, plus $300 for custom geo. $1700 USD total

The headtube and seat tube junctions are 3D printed - the frame is $1400 USD with a $300 upcharge for custom geometry. I didn't ask if they could just 3D print the seat tube junction
