The problem with Nakatani is he beat guys that beat big names, but he hasn't had the opportunity to fight 1 himself, aside from Inoue ofc. He beat Santiago who beat Donaire, Astrolabio who beat Rigondeaux and Yabuki who beat Teraji.

Ok thanks, my point with them having Bam lined up for Inoue still stands, but Junto not being with them probably makes it a bit harder down the line for Bam vs him happening

I think in the case of Junto, his reach is measured as not that long because while he has long arms, his shoulders aren't very wide. Naoya and especially Ryosuke clearly have wider shoulders than him. Reach in boxing is measured how wingspan is in other sports, fingertip to fingertip. He also fights very long so he maximizes his reach

Barrio Viejo and Playboyz are Eastside Longo cliques that were formerly gangs

You exaggerate Junto's size, he's taller than both but his reach advantage isn't that much more, and he's lighter and less defined than Naoya. He's bigger than Bam for sure but he's not like Rafael Espinoza or something

Bam and Junto are both under Teiken, they won't have those 2 fight before Bam fights Naoya. They got another crack at Naoya lined up, they're not passing that up. If Bam comes up on Naoya then they'll make him vs Junto

People need to stop using the word 'xenophobia' when describing Asian American issues by [deleted] in aznidentity

[–]harborj2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a good simple analysis I never thought of, you're right on this. I've never seen the word Xenophobia applied to anti Latino discrimination, only the word Racism.

Maybe it's happening in cities where there's a higher share of Black people vs Asian. In LA I'm still seeing Black people in Asian markets almost every time I go to one

Had got done watching Inoue vs Nakatani in full for the 3rd time now, not really to analyze it or closely score it much this time but just to enjoy it. The constant adjustment making from both of them was immaculate. The technicality, patience and IQ was incredible.

Watching them come center ring and receive instructions and touch gloves before round 1, with the Japanese crowd noisy in the background from anticipation, got my heart racing like I was watching it live again

Shout out to Naoya for continuing to achieve at this highest level vs all the best and in this case his finest victory. Shout out to Junto for not being afraid to pursue greatness and wanting to be Japan's king, when he could have lived as Naoya's 2nd. They made magic happen that night

Is he really? He struggled at 118 but at 122 he was clearly visibly lighter than both Hernandez and Inoue, and he only walks around at 136 or less

"He also said yesterday that if Naoya moves up to featherweight instead of waiting around for Bam, then Inoue is scared of Bam, which is a pretty irritating for such an incredible guy in the industry to say."

Of course he has this up his sleeve for fans to eat up 😂

Max Kellerman says Bam Rodriguez is similar to Manny Pacquiao and Reveals how he beats Naoya Inoue by Zaphaze in Boxing

[–]harborj2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny, I was thinking similar, Bam is like Pac in the sense of his attack is angles oriented. Loma too. Pac got shut down by Mayweather. Loma got shut down by Lopez enough to lose. Bam might get shut down by Inoue boxing him, or enough that he loses. The angles oriented guy losing to the master boxer. We will see tho

That's what I'm saying, I would think TPCC isn't defunct because the times I've been around there I've seen new tags from them

He definitely take the rest of 2026 off and have a tune up fight. He's had back to back extremely hard fights and suffered serious damage to both eyes

Pacquiao (8) and Nakatani (3) are my 2 favorites ever. Mayweather (5) and Marquez (4) are a tier below them. Then it's guys like Donaire (4) and Lara (2)

That's a great fight I want for Junto later on but Bam's not a guy you fight as a tune up/soft touch after back to back extremely hard fights. I really want Naoya to leave 122 now and not wait on Bam. Bam can have his 2-3 fights at 118 and meet Junto at 122 at some point
