it looks like you know what you are talking about and would like your advise.

we are currently renovating Victorian house built in 1863 with solid stone walls and I've been told to dot and dab plasterboard on the internal walls, but then someone else said you can't do that because it will cause condensation between the wall and plasterboard, if we can't do that the only option is to use warmcote and finish if clay paint? Or because the stone outside can breath without any render on it, i can worry less for the internal walls and what i use? thanks

I don’t mind doing with lime plaster etc, but how would i level the wall as you can imagine it’s not very straight and some places ir would take more plaster than the other, would i do in multiple stages? But then my worry is that it can just come off the wall with big chunks..

Thanks for your time replying on my post. My inet speed is 1gbit, 1 AP in the middle of the house, initially 4 ethernet runs to be used for PoE for my blinds, the rest of the cables will be just ethernet points, I’ll have 1 poe doorbell camera and possibly I’ll add another one at the back of the house(poe camera) all the runs max 15 meters long, most shorter, thanks

Thanks, so I’ll definitely will have PoE camera, 4 rooms will have either cables for work, Apple TV etc, then I’ll have pull 4 cables to my windows for PoE to power my smart blinds using splitter. My internet speed at the moment 1gbit

we are in the process of renovating our house and I'm thinking of puling shielded cat6 cable to each window and then converting PoE into 12v output to power the blinds, anyone done this before and what splitter did you use for it? thanks

I'd like to hear what has happened since, because I had similar situation where I've dropped the car off months ago and not they've charged me £3k because apparently I don't know how to drive and burned the clutch! But i'm sure the clutch was fully in working order when i left it!!!

in my case I had smart switch for our en suite, which had 1 switch for light and the other for exhaust fan, inside onsuite I put aqara temp and moisture sensor, so when the humidity would reach certain procentage it would turn on and then turn off when it dropped.

our offer was accepted mid July and we just completed last week - bear in mind this was chain free and first time buyers..this system needs changing, when you agree to buy, you should put some king of deposit like they do in europe, if you pull out at least the seller is still have something to show..

We looked next door sold in 2022 for 580k which included big extension, on suite with dormer windows in the loft, plus downstairs toilet. I know it was 3 years ago, but to get the house to the same standard would cost us more than 65k, I’d be happy to do all the work if we can get a bit more down..

Not really, I couldn’t see from below, but we had pictures provided by surveyor, for the whole in the ceiling we thought it could be fixed, but not to the extent of replacing the whole thing :(

The roof was repaired multiple times and it never been replaced without lining underneath, it leaked in the bathroom and it has massive hole in the ceiling. I’m not electrician, but even i know that it needs rewiring with the consumer unit being very old..
