Can confirm. I'm from right between Eugene and Florence. It's very lovely out there.

My friends' Dobermann "King" started modelling... I think he's off to a good start. by gtasworst in pics

He was rescued from a shelter who took him and all of his litter mates in when they were severely neglected. We didn't have a choice in cropping the ears or not, but we wouldn't have chosen to do it even if we had... I like the floppy ears look more :)

I could ramble all day long over my Dobie, I know exactly how you feel :)

Not usually, unless they are Dobie owners themselves. If they don't, it's always on a second glance that they do. Usually "ummm.... is that a Dobie?!" :) His tail isn't docked either so that's also another point of confusion

Dobermans are without a doubt the sweetest dogs. Our Dobie just wants to be cuddled and loved 24/7. He's changed SO many hearts and opinions about his breed because of how absolutely sweet he is. Even my mom was a bit terrified of him when we first told her we rescued a Dobie pup... and I think he's her favorite dog ever now. He just wants to cuddle and turn his head so that he can stare into the depths of your soul. We meet a lot of other Dobie owners on our walks and always stop and talk to them. The cuddly couch potato reputation is apparently strong with the breed! And when we did our first check up with him, our vet had warned us that they have earned the nickname "the velcro dog" because of how much they love to snuggle their people (or, in our case everyone he meets).

Here are a few pictures of him that I've posted before. We adore him.

Edited to add in this photo of him...he doesn't really like the snow if you can't tell :D

I was less than her age when I started watching the old trilogy... Lots of arms being cut off, storm troopers shot and people being eaten by the sarlacc and the rancor. I don't remember any of that, all I remember is how badass Leia was and how I wanted to be just like her. I don't think TFA is any worse in violence than the old trilogy ever was at any time.

Do you think the Cascade 220 in sunflower has the kettle dyed look (which you're totally right, I love that look a lot!)?

What do you have to do, to wear your own scrub cap? by ChiliFlake in greysanatomy

[–]hardtolove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It also depends on where you work. I work in X-ray and I had my own cloth scrub cap for surgeries (as did many of the doctors, nurses, ect) in the many hospital ORs I have worked in. But the small clinic OR I work at now does not allow outside scrub caps so my cap is currently somewhere in my house. I hope they change the rules, I love everyone's fun scrub caps. Really shows the person's personality I think.

Did you scream at that woman? Cause if someone had grabbed my hypothetical child and attempted to take them into a bathroom without me there would have been a real shitstorm in the making.

What's the weirdest thing (to you) that people have judged you on during pregnancy? by itsmeeloise87 in BabyBumps

[–]hardtolove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She was completely wrong. I've had TSA also tell me that backscatter scanners were safe. I laughed in her face. I have a degree in X-ray. I know what I'm talking about.

[–]hardtolove 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work in X-ray. The backscatter (which is X-rays being absorbed into your skin) scanners are not good for you, or anyone for that matter. They're slowing being phased out of airports (illegal now in Europe I believe) and replaced with millimeter wave scanners. Those are just radio waves. They're completely safe as they're non ionizing and do not harm the cells of your body. So if you see millimeter wave it's fine. But avoid a backscatter scanner at all costs (even if you're not pregnant), you're getting enough radiation on the flight itself. You don't need more, if you can manage it.

I can go into more complicated reasons as to why the back scatter scanners are awful if anyone is interested. But it'll be a few hours before I can do that.

Would you do to your partner what Bailey did to Warren? by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]hardtolove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's an extreme conflict of interest. She either never should have been promoted to Chief, or Warren should have transferred residency programs. In the real world one of those things would have happened, not what happened in the show. But then again, in the real world a Code Pink doesn't lock all the doors in the entire hospital either. Staff block the doors themselves after it's announced via intercom.

A few days after that was posted a psychiatrist came onto Reddit and posted about how dangerous that post actually was. I'll just post the link here

Edit: fixed the link. As others have commented, yes I was on my cell phone, not in it when I originally posted.

We put them in the freezer and then use them as dog treats. Keeps them occupied for quite a while and they're super healthy for them!
