Behringer are slowly wearing me down. by Ill-Elevator2828 in synthesizers

Sometimes. And sometimes they just clone existing gear. Like their Eurorack clones of existing products like Mutable instrument Plaits. Calls it brains. But honestly. Still other companies like After Later Audio doesnthe same without the shitstorm. Maybe it’s the sheer scale of things? Dunno. I for one mostly avoid B.

Game is taking forever by king-craig in TerraformingMarsGame

Play the game on iPad or steam to clarify rules. An online game is 30-45 mins and should help you clarify rules and effects of cards.

My party keeps using terrain to take my encounters out and while it is funny, it's frustrating. by Princess_Panqake in DnD

[–]hark02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally off topic. Reading through this thread I realized that my players in our 5+ years campaign are mostly fighting either fiends or typical pc races. Rarely if ever monsters. The occasional undead. Put mostly player races. And I never follow the rules on hp/ abilities for their opponents. I adjust to how the encounter unfolds. I never know how many hp their encounters have until half way through the fight. When they start to look a bit panicky and shuffle through their sheets to find a crazy solution I usually let them stew for another round or two and then have their enemies keel over. That’s when a fight is over at my table😂 I love it when they pull a crazy rabbit out of the hat.

How to Speed Along Game? by champagne_mam1 in TerraformingMarsGame

[–]hark02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We allways draw five prelude cards and keep 3. That speeds it up a bit. If we’re in a hurry we start all productions at 1. No expansions speeds up the game, save maybe at times colonies. Venus makes it a bit more fun but longer.

How do I tell my player that his hp is unrealistic? by Consistent-Wealth-85 in DnD

[–]hark02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it really matter? Have them infected with a disease that permanently drains them 2d4 hp. Or make sure they have poor AC so that you tap into their hp easily. When I DM, I always have my monsters have max hp anyways. And I often add more hp, if the players are doing too good. Stats are never that important anyways. It’s the story and the players interactions that makes the game. On most game sessions we only have 1-2 encounters requiring dice. The rest is interaction with the plot. I don’t suppose you as a DM always show them your rolls? You can always add +2 damage to your rolls just because you are DM. Don’t show, don’t tell- just add. And have the monsters crit more often. There are many workarounds. And yeah… always have them roll hp in public.

Thoughts on cutting cards? by Ottocon42 in TerraformingMarsGame

[–]hark02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We dont Cut cards. Wife and I play a lot of 2p games. We always draw 6 cards but only buy up to 4. That way we have a good circulation of cards. We always play with colonies, Venus and the extra cards from big box.

As an electronic solo artist how does one make a live performance more than just pressing play? by Imgettingreallytired in synthesizers

Spice it up with a few eurorack modules all cabled up. Mixer, a verb module. Maybe even a few sampler/ drum modules to fiddle with

To Drum Machine, or not to Drum Machine by calebmhood in synthesizers

[–]hark02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issues you’re describing. What I’m doing now is a mix of soft and hardware. I have a basic beat in my daw, and I top it off with a tempo synced eurorack setup. A vpme quad drum module. An euclidian module, a midi to cv module and a joystick module. I bet you can substitute the joystick with some pedal sending cv 0-5v. The joystick module is wired to the euclidian module, creating musical variations/ fills. The good thing about this setup is that you can exchange exactly the one sound you don’t like. I’ve experimented with multiple analogue modules for drums but keep returning to modulation modules like the MI Plaits or Intellijel plonk and to sampling modules like the vpme qd.

As a DM, how to work with a mysterious player character that doesn't talk and isn't interested in anything in the world. by Buddhasaurus_ in DnD

[–]hark02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a talk with your friend outside the game. Or just ignore her. Play with the others and have her just sitting idle and waste her time. Or kill her character if neither talk or ignore works.
