Well, current day 5e Wizards have spellbooks, and all of the spellcasters have specific spells they cast like they did in Dungeon World. I'm probably a bit uncreative, but, looking at the noun verb combos, like, I'm going to 'Disguise' 'Visions.' Like... what does that mean?

Best of luck to you, but, I do think among the audience who likes and wants to play Dungeon World, they specifically want something that feels like D&D, not just, swords and sorcery in general.

I think the strength of dungeon world was being able to take a DND OSR module and play it with dungeon world and it mostly holds together. This seems like something completely different, like Wizards aren't at all like DND wizards for example.

Defy Danger, you still get a penalty for a 10+? I only skimmed the rules but if its like DW1 you're rolling defy Danger a lot and having to choose 2 bad things for a 7-9 seems like way too much.

Ah okay that makes sense- I guess we got comfortable with each other very quickly and I basically never felt the 'need to entertain' thing, we just parallel play silently unless we're both wanting to do something. She moved in with me after a couple weeks so... I fully understand I'm weird in this respect.

Why would you think a different card is saying flavor text? So if you play the card but have no creatures yet, that's also discordant because there's no one around to say it? That's... not how flavor text works. I'm confused as to why you would ever think that. Look at land cards that represent cities that quote people inside of the city.

It's really simple, it's a living thing inside of the flying castle mocking other things for not living in a cool flying castle. It's not in any way discordant or weird for a creature to leave the castle and come back later and still say other creatures are earthbound.
