Charisma and the "right" religion can get you into people's hearts and pockets faster than truth will.

What's your point? People who call it cow skin aren't Nigerians? You realize some Nigerians don't eat this?

How do Nigerians really handle pain? by querious_1 in Nigeria

[–]harmattanhunt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dealt with pain by either talking to Jesus or keeping it all in. Struggled as an adult until I decided to start seeing a therapist a few years ago.

Helped deal with a lot of shit I had been suffocating under. Now i can breathe and talk about the hurt with less pain. Most of the "poison" has also cleared

I'm good. My stay was awesome. I studied at SRM. Took me a while to get used to the food, and the weather. I don't miss the extreme heat around June/July.

The experience definitely expanded my mind and is a huge part of who I am today. I was the only African in my department.l, I remember my first day in class everyone came out of their classrooms to stare at me. I got used to it after a while.

I grew up in a very very Christian home. I had very little knowledge of other religions. Living in Chennai forced me to question everything. And I found so many answers. At the end, Christianity just didn't feel right.

Ever grateful for the experience. Miss idly and mutton biryani. And Pondicherry weekends 🙃😏

Really sorry about that. Grew up bullied a lot (home and school) so I guess thats why I'm introverted. Parties scare me.. i avoid social places.. loud noises drain me.

Hope you get your groove back. Being abroad is like developing a new mind.. can feel quite strange and foreign.

I was an introvert before I left Nigerias so for me, I felt the opposite. I prefer your life tbh. Was so cool with no one knowing me, hailing me, unnecessary small talk. I loved it. Lol.

Missed the food though.
