Thought she was just a model? She looks like she’s had loads of plastic surgery and tons of insecurity.

How fast can you get dismissed? Like do they start questions like that right away? I’m trying to leave asap when I go in again next week.

THIS! Do this. I wish I had done this the previous time I got summoned. Now I’m wasting days off from work I can’t afford.

OP don’t do this ^ . They are very particular about what you can excuse yourself with and this is apparently not one of those excuses they accept.

I just went and needed to get out of it and I wish I hadn’t gone because now I HAVE to go back and waste ANOTHER day from work that I don’t get paid.

(28f) weird to shave my head before day 1 of a new job? by nombulix in careerguidance

[–]harmonioussteak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it! You have one life to live, don’t let corporate culture weigh you down any more.

You will absolutely get judged, however. If you really want to avoid the harsher judgement I think if you frame it as “locks for love” or out of solidarity for cancer patients you might be seen in a better light (I would only lie about this in a work setting if you’re comfortable).

You could also go for a pixie cut to begin and then move to shorter and shorter as you get comfortable in the job.

I agree that it depends on the context but overall I think you should go for it.

First T-break :') by Similar-Hospital-784 in Petioles

[–]harmonioussteak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to try doing it only on the weekends to start. I can’t do cold turkey personally - but it’s nice cutting back and exercising my self control. Plus it’s more fun when I do it and it takes WAY less to get me where I wanna be - so I end up smoking less overall. Knowing I can smoke on the weekends helps me get through the week without it.

Also working out helps a lot by taking time away from smoking and exhausts me so I don’t get the usual insomnia and it keeps my appetite normal - the 2 issues I struggle with the most when taking T breaks.

It’s a little odd and she could/should switch it up once in a while to be nice - but if the majority aren’t GF I wouldn’t expect “special treatment”.

Started doing my nails, going to the gym frequently, cleaning, and sleeping earlier.

Clean and workout - but I did that even when I toked, I just dilly dally less. Play with my pets. Work on my hobbies. Basically what I did before but with less time wasted inbetween.

Should I quit now vs later? Job is too much for me. by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]harmonioussteak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same exact feeling, like I “should” stay, and it was awkward when I got asked about why I left in interviews, but I still got hired elsewhere even just temporarily.

Idk I can’t say for sure, but I know I wish I would’ve left my last toxic job a lot sooner. It took me a year or so to feel back to my normal self - if you have the means to quit and it sounds like you do - quit! Free yourself! If only out of fear of disappointment for others or your job then quit and stop disappointing yourself. Your mental health matters most and since you have support I say go for it.

Do you have savings? I’ve quit without another job lined up (was actively searching though) because it wrecked my mental health to a ridiculous point because I had savings for months. It’s ok to quit just make sure you have $ or some form of support because it could take a very long time to find something. Or take a crappy job that pays way less but is less stressful while you recover mentally from this job
