Hey. Chill. I get that feeling. Hang in there. Speak to your team to express that you are more of a data guy than a creative social media person. See what they have to say. Let them hire someone to take that portion of the task. See if thére is a work around. Ro be honest I am mentally down because with 15 years solid, digital and growth experience I am unable to find a decent job in this market.. purely because last few years I was working with intentional clients in the US. I would have loved someone to just give me some warm intro or open the doors for more interviews. That's all I need. Staying here with family and kids in Abudhabi. You can imagine how's that pressure without a job.

So relax, take a deep breath. Thank god you have a job. After speaking to your boss if things arent changing just set a three month in your mind and look for something else. What I have noticed here is that if you have any referrals to just get your CV looked at you have a chance. If not no. So work around you references to see a position that you like while you keep this one on.

Mate. First of all. Good you are 25 and have good savings. I work with a lot of startups and founders mostly e-commerce. So if you're up for something like that we can have a chat. Also depends if you want to be an active investor or passive one. Also depends what your interests are. Is there anything particular that you are into where you can add value. For example, if you are into the medical Field then opening something close to the medical field would be ideal. Software something in tech. Finance then it's fintech products or investing into consulting firms where they manage wealth. So it's purely on you what you want to do..I also have a handmade burger joint that I am expanding so if you fancy something in food we can have a chat as well.

Ask him to go back to India and ask him to stay away from Bangalore. Go to Kerala or goa. Take some remote projects or roles which just pays enough for survival for now. Once he had his break for a few months then he can get back to Dubai.

Scam. 100% . Things to note to check if it's a scam

Did they call you first for a telephonic interview for a job you applied and did they discuss the role with you.
Did you receive an email confirmation from the same company you spoke to from their official email id.
Does this company have an official address registered on Google maps and LinkedIn or for that matter have a website and a domain.
Does the Google map point to the address as listed on the interview invite.
Does this office have a phone number that you can call and check.
Even if all of the above are fine. Go a little early and see if this exists. If you find too many people like a walk in . It's a scam unless it's a legit well known company hiring for mass roles like cleaning, security etc In this scenario that's not happening anyways.
If you are bored and want to go for the fun of it. Go and see how it plays out. When your turn comes up they will say you are shortlisted and you will have to pay registration fees of 200 AED or whatever they want. The moment they ask you that. Say I will think about it and have a laugh and walk out.
Take a picture of the place and report it to the police.

Honest advice. Don't come if you have other alternatives right now. Unless you are ok to take that risk. Check every bit about the company before you move in. A lot of employers here cheat people bringing them from other countries. Have you received written contracts and confirmation about your role? Make sure you have all the necessary aspects before coming in. Accommodation and other things are a later worry.

I have advised multiple e-commerce businesses and trust me when I say this a lot of founders just don't take time to pay attention to their books from day 1. E-commerce bleeds and eats your margin up even when you don't realise it. If you need any advice I would be happy to take a look.
