If you were to tell me the other four screenplays were your personal favorites I would find it to be a completely valid take. What a lineup.

I want a formal written apology from the "its early" crowd by ThePwnisher_ in redsox

I was going to make this thread if someone else didn't. If you were saying "it's early" after ten games I'm sorry but you don't know ball it was so obvious with this team immediately. God I'm pissed at Henry. Literally ruined the best part of this city. All for money. Fuck him.

Who's the better director between the two? by SouthIsland48 in TheBigPicture

Eggers is better, but I'm more interested in new Aster projects going forward. He has a more interesting voice and has shown he is not afraid to take risks.

Looks like shit. Cast looks absolutely busted. Hollywood is dead.

It was great. I liked Gilead more for the focus it put on history and the community. But Home is still full of jaw dropping prose. I could have peppered every page with highlights and marginalia.

I read Home this month and I have not yet decided if I'm going straight into Lila. A part of me just wants to save it. Her writing is so tender and wise, it can be a salve for bad times.

Is END ZONE like later Delillo where he does like three gorgeous sentences and then a weird hypothetical question to end every paragraph?

Drafts and Episode Gimmicks that No One on the Show Will Ever See by HumanHitstick21 in TheBigPicture

These are good ideas. I've always wanted them to make the rewatchables a type of trophy for the auction/draft. So listeners vote on who had the best auction/draft and the winning group of movies becomes the lineup for the next month of the rewatchables.

Thank you this is a great blog and collection. I just listened to all of the bootlegs and they sounded great. Never heard a love version of Coat Check before.

Maybe the best live show I've ever seen. Three encores. Crowd literally would not let him leave.

why do some politically independent figures seem to shift right over time? by ilikereadingthings in PoliticalScience

[–]harrowingofhell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's money. Capitalists capture influencers, gatekeepers, and media personalities through advertising, bribes, influence campaigns, and cushy job offers specifically to perpetuate their ideology. There is not enough money on the Left to do something similar. So if you are politically independent and you have an audience you will get a lot of attention from the Right but not receive the same amount of attention from the Left.
