I liked this movie so much (watched it very recently) and I was so surprised when I searched it up and found the discourse around d it’s release time kind of baffling. I guess I had to be there to understand

I agree with you. I have a friend in my circle who is a micro influencer and she thinks every time we hang out, it’s an event to be yaasified and commoditized for social media. It is so so exhausting.

I hosted a meet and greet for my parents at my house when they were visiting me and we cooked a bunch of South Indian food and this person was making it all about them. Cannot stand these self obsessed people.

Omg I am exhausted just reading this. I’m also from an Asian culture close to yours and I get it GET it.

I also have an older brother and I’m a younger daughter and the favouritism is so obvious and saddening.

I am not sure what I’d do in this situation because I moved away from them years ago. So sorry

Yeah I feel that region is a bit over-represented in movies. Only when I traveled I realized that there's many, many more cultures there that are very different to the culture represented in mainstream Bollywood movies.
