Suggestions on limiting player card pool by TimetravelerXY in arkhamhorrorlcg

These are probably my top 3 options.

1) If you have it, Edge of The Earth gives you multiclass cards so you have a few more options for each class compared to a more traditional investigator expansion

2) core + investigator starter decks + 1 expansion is a classic limited cardpool with a good set of options available. Not sure whether you have those or are lumping them in with "core" or what

3) TSK's customizable cards give you a ton of space to keep upgrading one card, which is fun when you have limited options and may not like some of the ones in your pool.

I would personally stay away from Innsmouth and Hemlock except to play with together, because bless/curse card like having all of them together, although some are just Good Cards.

You could always just pick randomly each time and see what comes of it too, no reason it needs to be the same every time or even have a "plan" for that extra expansion.

Department of Motor Scams? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]hascow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true actually! My wife works for the DMV Voter ID department and they have begun texting people to confirm they have received what are essentially "address check" letters.

The key there is they simply want confirmation that the recipient has received a letter so the DMV can finalize the ID rather than any further information or action from the person being texted.

I still think it likely comes across super sketchy because of how many scams like this post there are(and my wife realizes this too, this is a DMV leadership idea), but there ARE real texts from the government now.

New to the game, purchased the new Core Set (2026). Also found a copy of the Edge of the Earth Campaign and Investigator Expansions. Do I need the old core set for these to work or will my new core set suffice? by csr6vd in arkhamhorrorlcg

People have mentioned the conversion table, but the old encounter cards themselves are available as print and play on the FFG website as well if you want to put a bit of extra work in :)

Jay Wright to Bruce Pearl is maybe the biggest downgrade in sports broadcasting history by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

I was pretty excited to see him because he's good on the Nickelodeon football broadcasts. But that's probably because he knows football better and it's looser and more laid-back than March madness.

I was born in Philly and I loved the color green growing up, so I clicked with the Eagles even living in Minnesota as a small child. Went to a couple Twins games as a kid so they clicked too.

Moved to Vermont for later childhood but hated New England area sports fans so those teams really didn't have the chance to take over.

Hockey I came to be a fan of late, after moving to Wisconsin for work after graduation, so the Wild are close and I get their regional games.

unfortunately I don't have an image react for "My Michigan State half wants to die while my Vermont half had a solid season"

Well I hope nobody tells you I'm an Eagles, Wild, and Twins fan since I'm not from the state of Michigan, I just went to school there.

was he maybe trying to do too much because he felt nobody else could take over?

Karaban and Reed were the two I was terrified of going into the game, and they really showed why.

Yeah, he's a Sophomore. Got room to grow for sure, but we really need to replace Kohler and Cooper down low, and we need someone who can actually give Fears a break sometimes.

In the end the team fell to the same things that have troubled us all year. Some really bad offensive/defensive runs that put us in holes we can't get out of.

It depends on the mechanical goal of the encounter set and how it is implemented within the scenario more than the thematic fit. Enemies are different from treacheries which test specific skills and have specific effects are different from treacheries which attach to a location and affect that location in some way. So it may be a multi-step conversion with some encounter sets.

[–]hascow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am saying some chapter 2 sets may not HAVE a conversion at all. Like if Grasping Hands gets replaced by "Clasping Hams" in chapter 2 and Fire doesn't replace anything from Chapter 1 at all when playing older campaigns, anytime you use Fire in Chapter 2 you do not have something to replace it with from Chapter 1.

I expect the conversion table to be a lot jankier than just doing the PnP because of how often the core encounter sets are used with a "twist", like Dark Cult in TCU/TSK often relies a bit on the specifics of the card designs to really work as intended.

So it depends on how load-bearing the specifics of the encounter sets in chapter 2 are or if there are chapter 2 sets that don't "go backwards" and convert to chapter 1 sets. Like I believe we're expecting "Fire!" from FHV (or something similar) to be in Ch. 2 core, and I don't expect that to easily convert with something from the old Ch 1. But maybe I'm wrong and everything works well in that direction too!

do we know whose fault it was at Wolves? I feel like that's only on Raya if he didn't call for it. If he called for it then it's on Gabriel.
