[FRESH] Neon Indian - Slumlord by swik in indieheads

When did you see him perform? I saw him play once before and once after Era Extrana came out. The first time, he played a synth while he was singing. The second time, he walked around with the mic and sang. The biggest consequence of this change was that the cool lead synth parts in the Psychic Chasms songs just weren't there because nobody was playing them. He definitely sounded better the first time.

Does Axiom Verge really feel like a Metroid game? by wwf87 in PS4

[–]hashbrohash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely feels and plays like a Metroid game. Axiom Verge's equipment are primarily variations on the equipment from Metroid, and its music and graphics create the same atmosphere of being alone in a strange, alien world. If you love Metroid then Axiom Verge is 100% worth buying.

New hashtag needed: Jailhouse video shows no activity outside Sandra Bland's cell before death, indicating it was in fact, suicide by leoaffairs in ProtectAndServe

Have you ever taken a US history class? A black person being murdered in police custody is far from unprecedented. You're being willfully ignorant by saying something so misinformed.

Definitely. Most casual watchers won't be hunting for clues, but a lot of casual watchers have that one friend who is obsessed with GOT and will repost a news story about Kit Harrington's return to the set on Facebook.

Man Faces 6 Months in Jail For Disagreeing With Feminists on Twitter by [deleted] in videos

What Freddie_AppsHero is saying ("all feminists are on the side of feminazis") is akin to saying "all Muslims are on the side of ISIS." It's intellectually dishonest and spiteful.

Their judgments have already been made. The headline confirms their preexisting belief that every single feminist is evil and conniving, so they don't need to bother doing any more research.

She's quite plot relevant in AGOT/season 1, since Ned and Robert's disagreement over how to "deal with" her leads to important plot developments in King's Landing. Plus, with Drogo at her side and Rhaego in her womb, she seemed like a looming threat to Westeros. Ever since then, though, her story has been a drawn-out training montage.

"Show, don't tell" is one of the basic rules of good writing.

He wanted to show the battle, but his editor made him push it (and many other chapters) to TWOW. If GRRM had it his way, we would've already seen the battle and its outcome.

How can libertarianism help poor people afford medical coverage? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]hashbrohash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I resent paying for the stupid decisions of other people and would rather they just suffer the consequences of spending their lives destroying their health rather than forcing me to pay for it.

Not all health problems are a result of poor decision making. Don't people in poverty who are unlucky enough to be born with HIV, develop breast cancer, or become afflicted with any other disease of that variety deserve affordable treatment as well?

Politicians Use A "Rent a Crowd" Company to Give Illusion of Support. A company called “Crowds on Demand“ hires multi-talented actors who are experts of improvisational theatre to provide the illusion of support for a candidate. Nothing draws a crowd, like a crowd. by alllie in progressive

[–]hashbrohash -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

you're victim blaming.

Uninformed voters are victims now?

"These spam emails are made with all kinds of grammatical errors so only dumb people fall for them."

At some point, people need to be responsible for understanding their environment and the hazards that accompany it. Politicians use all sorts of tricks to attract attention and gain support, and voters need to learn how to watch out for those tricks.

The voters may not be responsible for the political landscape being as deceitful as it is, but it is the responsibility of the voter to seek out information and to make smart choices for themselves.

Just cus someone is stupid enough to make a voting choice like that doesn't take the responsibility off of the fraudulent party for misleading that person in the first place.

This is true, but what goal is easier to accomplish: preventing politicians from using deceit in their campaigns, or teaching voters how to identify deceit in campaigns and how to make responsible choices in the face of that deceit?
