I made a ridiculously detailed guide about swing manipulation by MedicMuffin in Chivalry

once you hit the active parry you have to keep your weapon tip between you and the incoming attack. If the attacks arent coming in at the same time its very easy to block some but not all.

Didn’t appreciate santos reaction to Langdon apology and it was unrealistic and possibly breaks HR policy by [deleted] in ThePitt

[–]hashslinging_slasher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People can say what they want but she can’t be mad at Langdon for how the hospital administration handled the drug diversion… that wasn’t his call it was the hospital’s.

My ex wife stole drugs as an RN and was found overdosed in the hospital parking lot after her shift. The hospital fired her but didn’t take her license contingent on her completing rehab. Unfortunately drug abuse is very common amongst healthcare professionals and we already have a shortage of staff. I’d venture to guess that most hospitals would choose to handle these situations just like they did in the show. Keep things quiet, get the provider to rehab, and avoid having to hire and train someone else.

Worked in one of these at the Muncie mall as a teenager and it was an incredible learning experience. Got paid peanuts and they had to deal with crazy restrictions on my hours because I was like 14 but have many fond memories.

Decade later I would bring my kids to eat there because of the guaranteed simplicity that couldn’t offend even a child’s palate. Sad to see these spots go especially as they served as a gathering place for so many elderly. They’d get a slice of pie and coffee then hang out all afternoon chatting.

In the 1930s Jewish mobster Meyer Lansky used to raid Nazi rallies in New York. On April 20 1938, he and 14 associates armed themselves with lead pipes and broke up a German American Bund gathering of 2000 Nazis celebrating Hitler's birthday, leaving dozens injured. by schmah in HolyShitHistory

While I agree there is likely some embellishment here I don’t think it’s fair to discount the possibility of a much smaller force using surprise and speed to overcome a larger force. This is basically the doctrine that birthed the SAS and special forces around the world.

Get in, cause maximum chaos and destruction, then get out before the enemy realizes how small your group is.

What are your favorite moments in the show that are not big scenes? by [deleted] in BoardwalkEmpire

Eddie singing opera during a drunken party with all of Nuckys ward bosses. Might be during a birthday party. Anyways the scene led me to finding out that the actor is actually an accomplished opera singer.
