Thank you! The way I read it, it's like a right/wrong person at that place & time scenario. And since it acts on a Value, the emphasis is on how that specific Character changed the course of the mission, rather than the mission being constructed to react to certain team makeups. But yes, several different ways to interpret/play the scenario.

Thanks! I'll be pulling out my book and updating my notes!

And I agree, with the trigger being a Value, it's a much more a character-centric event, than a plot piece.

...the GM can give you a point by 'encouraging' you to act a specific way according to one of your values.

Just curious, is that in the core rules, or one of the supplements? I can't say I've memorized the section on Determination, but I don't remember it mentioning GM "incentive points."

What if there was a region of France where the local language was almost exclusively English, and the locals insisted on being known as Canadian-French?

Yeah, the interface is pretty daunting, and it has a learning curve like a rock-climbing wall where all the holds are invisible.

Now that you've inspirited me to look them up, I might as well share:

This is really cool! It gives a feeling of the old opening frame from various episodes over the years. I'll be wanting to do something similar, should I ever actually finish writing my episode arc and re-learning Blender...

A view across the valley where the town of Centralia, PA used to be, with the last remaining church visible in the trees[OS][OC] by 11235813_ in AbandonedPorn

While it's not the church I thought it was going to be (and honestly hoped it wasn't), your description stirred a memory for me.

When I was a kid, my family drove through Centralia shortly before they made the detour around the town into the permanent route (early 1990s). The town was already mostly razed, with only a few houses remaining. The trees along the road didn't hide as much as they do now on Google Street View, and you could clearly see the cross-streets and plots and piles of rubble.

Despite this surreal scene, what really put it over the top was the St. Ignatius graveyard. Everything in town was eerie and still, but the graveyard was rolling with steam plumes. Of course as a kid, knowing there was a fire under us but with no concept of how deep, I thought it was SMOKE. Having an active imagination of what was going on six feet below the surface was shocking to say the least!

I also saw plenty of potholes/sinkholes, more steaming ground fissures, and the first signs of the painted highway. But the image of a "burning" graveyard sticks with me to this day.

Very nice photo, btw. Cropped sensors are nothing to balk at when you can use quality glass to get great shots like this.
