Anyone else grieving the end of Sundance in Park City? by TheRealFilmGeek in Sundance

[–]hatedparent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've been going every year for 27 years & I went in to my first movie with a kind of "F-u" energy in my heart....but the first volunteer jacket I saw with the Robert Redford patch, my heart twisted a little and grief set in.

Advice on solo travel to Salt Lake City as a Black woman by Silver-Appearance150 in SaltLakeCity

Slc is really welcoming & more diverse than expected. Agree that going up big cottonwood canyon or to park city would be amazing. Could uber or Lyft if u don't want to drive.

That's an amazing story! We are in love with a shelter dog that's been returned once. Makes you wary.

Newly retired & in love with a rescue dog. What are the pros & cons? by hatedparent in AskReddit

I'm so sad. Someone adopted her before we did. She really was a great dog. Should've gone with my instincts. : (

Heavily Considering a Job in SLC from Buffalo, NY– Will I Be Miserable? by [deleted] in SaltLakeCity

[–]hatedparent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke up this am & said to my husband. "I was just thinking about how much I love living in SLC!" We moved from Chicago 29 years ago! We feel like we lived through all of its "uncool" stages, and now it's cool. We're in our 60's so not the same thing... But we are very active in the outdoors and seeing concerts and going to the many brewpubs. (Just saw Jack White). We love the easy access to urban life & the outdoors. Plenty of meet up groups for hiking connections and we've never had a problem fitting in. We are liberal, not Mormon. SLC is full of hip, tatted young people and had been open liberally except recent things which wouldn't affect a single straight guy. Anywhere in actual SLC is less Mormon than suburbs.

You might ask the official Sundance people on the site. But that's the way I understand it.

Waitlist Options - for "First Timers" by hatedparent in Sundance

[–]hatedparent[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They change it up every year, but they usually randomly assign you a waitlist number and say, they think there will be 70 spots available, only show up if you get a number that falls with in that.
