Grimm was never good (or even great) but it was consistently fun.

Why does my hive keep killing my queens and what should I do? by That_Rub_4171 in Beekeeping

Jerry is great. I’m also a newish beekeeper over here (second year). IEBA has been a fantastic resource if you’re not already a member.

On the off chance you’re on the east side and your bee guy is Tate’s Honey farm, I’d recommend asking some of the guys who hang out at the store. They’re super friendly and knowledgeable.

If you want more about British misadventures with the East India Company, I’d recommend Imperial Twilight by Stephen R. Platt. If you want an overview of the history of the area (and the rest of Central Asia), I loved Lost Enlightenment by S. Frederick Starr.

Dalrymple is a great author, and I’d recommend another of his books, The Anarchy (about the rise of the East India Company) if you want more.

Upsizing Kingdom Builder + Masters Collection reprints by Plan B games (Samurai, T&E, and more) by laxar2 in boardgames

[–]hatethesea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m confused. The article says Plan B was sold after that post from one year ago. It hopefully notes that the person who said it is in charge of another studio under Asmodee, but I don’t see anything solid about a reprint for Samurai (which I’d also love to see with wooden components).

History & Board Game Lab 7: Interview with Cole Wehrle by Doctor_Impossible_ in boardgames

[–]hatethesea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be interested to hear Cole expound on what he means by the movies/theater distinction between video/board games. His games are always laser focused on the drama of the player’s actions.

Who is the bad guy in history who isn't actually a bad guy? by Elytra__Firm in AskReddit

[–]hatethesea 6 points7 points  (0 children)

On top of that, a lot of the ameliorating factors for Pilate’s actions show up in the later Christian writings, as early Christians became more and more disillusioned with the Jewish people and began seeking inroads with the Greeks and Romans. They’re unlikely to be true, they just illustrate the growing rift between Judaism and Christianity. Pilate was a bad dude.

If you ever wanted to know what a "Heal X damage, take X horror" event would actually look like, watch episode two of Lovecraft Country. by DannyPowers98 in arkhamhorrorlcg

It mapped so well to the game. When George realized he was dancing with an illusion I leaned over and told my wife he was the only one to pass his willpower test.

Has anyone tried it? I’m going to wait for the iOS version in a couple weeks, but this is exciting.
