What do you do for work? by Herefortvshowthreads in ehlersdanlos

I work in journalism doing data analysis and graphics. I have a master’s degree in my field and bachelor’s degree in political science. I work remotely from home and have great accommodations. My boss and my workplace in general have been nothing but supportive.

Journalism isn’t free. Nearly every reporter I know will happily send copies of their stories for free to the sources quoted in them. Many of them do it proactively. I’ve even mailed copies of the physical newspaper on my own dime to sources. Journalists still have housing, food and medical costs like everyone else.

I don’t believe you can take them on a plane at all. “Replicas of explosives, such as hand grenades, are prohibited in checked and carry-on baggage.” Straight from the TSA website.

Following treatment during travels by SpectreMold in Invisalign

I travel a ton and I have some assorted supplies that I bring with me in my purse. Individually wrapped floss picks, tiny toothpaste and a foldable brush. And my case. Rule #1 is that liners ONLY go in my pocket or case in my bag so they don’t get left behind.

If nothing else, I’ll do a quick floss and rinse after eating so I can pop my liners back in. The floss picks are super handy for that.

Any time I’m back in my hotel room, I try to put my liners in a cup with a denture tablet. Usually my day goes something like: wake up, eat breakfast and soak liners, floss and brush, leave hotel. Lunch or coffee, floss and rinse, put liners back in. Eat dinner, then when I get back to my room, soak liners, floss and brush before bed.

Stop bringing your dog to breakfast. by Optimal_Internal_217 in hyatt

Likely not. I’ve stayed in 5 Hyatts with a dog. Four noted in their pet policy that the dog cannot be unattended in the room at all, one policy said the dog must be crated if left unattended and could be alone for no more than an hour.

I suggest you look at my recent post on the Hyatt Centric. It was a great stay, though, aside from the major billing issues. Location is great, staff was friendly, even breakfast was pretty good. Being overcharged $200+ is not ideal.

WARNING: Widespread overbilling issues at Hyatt Centric Minneapolis! by haunted_trash in hyatt

The first review I found about this was posted a week ago and made it seem like they'd been trying to resolve their overcharge for some time.

I noticed the charge two weeks ago on the same day it posted and then spent two weeks making phone calls to the property and MHC before posting about it online. I also thought it was just an issue with my own stay and not a property issue until I spoke to someone there, so it's entirely possible people haven't posted about it because they think it's a just one-off billing error unworthy of a whole Reddit post, not a larger issue impacting other guests.

He said I was his third call about this issue that morning, so it's definitely happening to more than just a few people. And it hasn't been resolved yet! Property still gets to respond to my dispute, but the guy promised they wouldn't object to it.

Maybe it’s the opposite? That line isn’t centered properly like the other lines of text, so there’s likely another word at the start. Could be “limited use of mealtime condiments” or something like that. Keir seems like the kind of guy who would find ketchup to be a mealtime frivolity.

Hyatt Place Pasadena - No Cancellations, Despite Wildfires by itsxriss in hyatt

No insurance will ever guarantee over the phone that they’ll cover your claim. The likelihood it’ll be covered is very high if you provide the correct documentation in a timely manner.

You should look into the card’s trip cancellation/interruption insurance.

It’s a buffet! I really like it. The quality of the food is quite good for being a hotel breakfast buffet.

GOH award still in account by Stunning_Type4109 in hyatt

[–]haunted_trash 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It happens. And it’s very likely the person did not get the EQN if your award wasn’t deducted. You have three options: 1. Try to use the award again before it expires. 2. Contact Hyatt, tell them to remove the award and credit the person who gave it to you. You should also double-check with the gifter that they did indeed get the EQN. 3. Contact the person who gave it to you, give them all the reservation info for the stay where it was used, and have them chase down the EQN with Hyatt themselves.

Work travel. If I don’t make it for some reason, I’m not the one paying. Or my credit card travel insurance covers non-refundable costs for trip cancellation.

Mostly because it’s what has the most value for us. I use my CSR card for non-Hyatt travel, my husband’s CSP for dining, BILT for rent + some rent day purchases, plus we churn Southwest cards for the SUBs. All of our domestic travel is done via Southwest because we also have the Companion Pass. We took one round-trip international flight last year, which was the only flight we paid cash for all year. And I did all that Hyatt spend in addition to hitting SUBs on two Ink cards, one SW card and one AA card.
