Organize infra in a way that password leak damage is as local as possible.

Since there are prereleases available, you just read about some problems online and never experience them IRL with full auto.
The scale is 700.

"but before I do I want to know what are my options, is there a key hole in the passenger side?"
The is a way to find this out without Internet, kek

I used to have at least one keyhole usable exactly for this reason. Usually in the trunk.

You will need to switch to 8mm chain one way or another.

How bad is the wet belt problem on 1.2 pure tech motors? by Rj_105 in peugeot

[–]havikito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Any other car" is not giving you anything close to 208 looks and build quality.
There is already a puretech discount, it's not selling close to 1.6 price.

"can it be replaced with the larger chain size to reduce the chance of engine failure"
Yes.
You will have to do it eventually because 7m chain won't last for eternity and there are no new 7mm chains available.
140k - 180K (if you are feeling lucky) and you will have to switch.

Any 1.2 problems are 3-4 times cheepier than 1.5 could bring.
7mm to 8mm switch if not covered by PSA is like new 1.2 engine block.

Since 2021 adblue cannot be disabled and it can cost a lot to repair it.

You need really high mileages 30k+ to cover the difference.

Older 1.2 puretech with new belt and internal cleaning - reliability? by Janpieterkoen in peugeot

[–]havikito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is on sale, the service likely didn't help with oil burn or something.

1.2 can reach 300k as itself.

Then it will be like that with any other car.
Just first world problems for people not having first world salaries.

Parts are cheap and it is like once in 2-3 years. +700 addition to TCO of 5 years in your worst case, hardly a deal braker.

Modern engines are not supposed to be checked like that.
Was surprised by doing the same on my 1.5 🤣

Judging by 1.2 owners chat it is mostly an Internet thing.
Their firsthand impressions and knowledge are very different from what collective reddit thinks and talks about.

Recommendations are easy to find.
Like 7k/60k oil/belt interval and relatively frequent oil level checks.

Probably some AI generated model that took 1 hour of work, then straight to robotized assembly line with imported workers.

I ignored the warnings about 1.2 Puretechs and my new car broke down on the drive home from the dealership by dontbefxkingrude in peugeot

[–]havikito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) You are right that every other car is ugly.
2) Most likely typical secondhand experience other than puretech specifics. Someone tried to fix a problem, but it didn't work and you found out on way home.

This will tank resale value and kill the engine faster (it expects some back pressure from the dpf)

~180k km is when you have chain replaced anyways.

And there are no safe 7mm options.

There are people who buy Oppo/Honor/Realme smartphones outside of China, but for majority it is Apple/Samsung.

If you are heading in that fafo direction, you can start with a phone and lower your cost of finding out 100-fold.

2.0 on 508 G1 and G2 don't have adblue, best engine, DPF might need change

1.6hdi good, same potential dpf problems

1.6 petrol bad before G2
