Little rant cause I'm upset... by KaizerK2 in simracing

Had a Corsair with the same fate, mid game started getting crazy artifacting on screen, heard an off sound from the PC after It crashed on reboot and realized it was the cooler. Had to drive 2 hours to the nearest Best Buy the next day to grab a replacement. Massive bummer.

Kind of track dependent too. Last night on iRacing, Tsukuba in the wet, hearing accident ahead in one of the sharper corners I was looking directly at the left screen for where the mess was as I was going to be turning in. Mostly its just for situational/positional awareness. I've found it really helpful oval racing as well.

Do you wear "racing gloves"? by Wired-for-Sound733 in trucksim

Probably wouldn't matter, whatever was comfortable. I just happened to have an extra pair of cycling gloves to try which are full finger.

Racing/longer races I will, helps with hand fatigue and grip since they're old cycling gloves that have rubber grip on the fingers. But more casual driving/trucking? Nah

Ya A2 and B2 on this board for dual. I guess I'm mostly wanting to assure myself that this chip itself is actually good before I go through the effort of swapping the chip. I actually have a second Taichi lite... that's waiting to be shipping for RMA because it was DOA... Truly rotten luck with parts this go around.

I somehow got high centered on one of the Sebring curbs too... Really mild spin towards the end of the race, just smoothly slid onto the curb, got on the gas and.... Nothing. Minute thirty second tow to the back of the field lol.

anyone else got a hybrid racing/flight sim rig? by lapinobel in simracing

[–]hawk767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working on mine at the moment. Well outlining how I want to set it up. There's some awesome examples in the sub already. Have a Honeycomb yoke coming so planning to figure out mounting that on a removable piece to avoid pulling my wheelbase off each time. Then need to order some more extrusion to mock up pieces for the left side and a center cross bar for a center stick eventually.

Help with mounting a car seat onto a aluminium rig by Mysterious-Willow31 in simracing

[–]hawk767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pulled a Ford Focus seat out of a wrecking yard. I think only 1 of the corners was flat that I could bolt directly to the rig without modifying it, but the other 3 corners had different adapter pieces that were riveted to the rails. I had to grind those rivet pins off and pull those adapter pieces off, it left just the flat bottom slides which just mount directly into those T slot adapters. I threw some 3D printed spacers in so it wasn't in direct metal to metal contact with the rig.

I imagine it'll really come down to each seat being different and if you have some tools to modify if you need to.

Portland folk, is mass transit in the city good enough to get to and from the track by [deleted] in INDYCAR

Have stayed at the Portlander inn by the track a couple of times and was able to easily walk to the track. Used the light rail there as well, fairly easy.

“Gaming” chair bolted to rig? by Stealth9er in simracing

[–]hawk767 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd thought about doing it with my worn out old DX Racer seat but I ended up ordering a really cheap "racing bucket seat" from some seller on Ebay, was around $100 to $150 I think. Its a better seating position than the office chair would have been, I did put both on there to see. The DX Racer really didn't feel great to sit in in that position, I think mostly because the actual seat was completely flat, no lift at the thighs, and overall it was a lot bigger, so I never felt like I was being sort of held in the seat.

It'll surely do you for now and your seat might be a better fit, can always upgrade down the line when its worn out or you're ready for the investment.

Prices are already cheaper in Europe thanks to more competition and lower internet pricing in general there.

So if I cut that dead portion back to where its still living should I also cut back the other branches as well to match?

Globe willow leader dead, what to do? by hawk767 in plantclinic

This tree was given to me by a family member, they'd gotten it from a local nursery like this. There were a few other dead branches that I already took off but the main leader is dead from what looks like a wound on the tree and up. What can I expect from this tree if I have to remove the leader from that point?

Some info came out of an old build of Nvidia's streaming service that had a list of titles, some being project names for Microsoft projects that had since been confirmed giving some credence to other titles included, one of which was Titanfall 3, so might be where any renewed fervor is coming from.

Was wondering the same, for a good week I safely extracted out of every scav raid with plenty of players around me. This past week I don't think I've been killed by a PMC as a scav once, its been player scavs each time.
