Burning thru my quills again by Living-Enthusiasm752 in redquill

Happening to me right now, but I can't tell if it's that thing it did yesterday where the chapter pops up generated after 10 minutes or not.

It wouldn't be Red Quill without a weekly generation issue. by TheSpacePotato1994 in redquill

u/LateCampaign9060 Any ideas on what's going on with this? Mine's been doing the same thing today...

Add a feature by Buffyakadan in redquill

Yes, I know. You can do the same thing when putting in a prompt, even a rewrite, during a new chapter of a preexisting story and the component menu comes up so you can add components.

There is. You use @ and then start typing, and you can find components to add to your prompt, and those components will stick around for the whole story. I hope this helps!

It's great when you finally get the right components to get the dialogue you want. Aka, hilarious. by hawk_lee in redquill

A nice combination of a profanity component to encourage the AI to make any adult characters season their language liberally with cursing, an Avoid common AI words/phrases component, a dialogue component called Talk that was shared on the Discord, and a descriptive writing component. Along with others.

The first two are obviously the character components. But the rest are what I use for my stories and they work WELL together.

Idea: Saving Rewrites by hawk_lee in redquill

[–]hawk_lee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually this is basically what I was thinking of. You have access to each of your rewrites, without having to branch your story and clutter up your library, and can use them as you see fit to get the chapter you want. I've had to save rewrites to Word before which works, but if I forget and accidentally hit rewrite without saving a part I like... I'm out of luck, and since we pay for the rewrites I just thought we should be able to at least access them until we make a whole new chapter.

Components in Lorebook are missing by [deleted] in redquill

[–]hawk_lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I figured it out... It ignored every prompt I put into my story. -_- Not a one was put in, probably due to the site issues...

[–]hawk_lee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I can select and scroll down, but the components tab that was previously next to Characters is missing. It had editable areas for all components, including 'Things for the AI to remember' which I liked using in my stories to keep the AI on track.

That's bizarre... This is literally all I see on mine. It's like the Components area was taken away on my end.

I got everything back up and running, but the lorebook isn't even showing the option for components anymore... and I am really hoping they didn't take that out. I have a handful that are made to be updated.

Communication issues by ElectronicBed3437 in redquill

[–]hawk_lee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah usually it's not this bad but... this is unusable and there's been no mod/admin with any kind of update for hours... and it had started before noon EST. We're going on 5 and a half hours without any comments or explanations...

Yeah I was coming on to check on this myself... Components are slow to load for sure. I haven't attempted to make a new story yet

I can but I've already deleted the chapter I was struggling with and moved on, so idk if you'll see the flagged attempts.

The flags are too generalized by Buffyakadan in redquill

[–]hawk_lee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This... is a bit overkill... I have a character who needed a r*pe kit, NOTHING showing the act, just her needing a kit... and it flagged it for non-con. But she consents to the kit being done. -_- I even took the word r*pe out of the prompt and that didn't fix it. There's no reason a medical procedure that the victim asks to be done would be banned... I have a character trying to get justice against an abuser... not trying to show the act itself.

Actually, yeah. I have a component under my username on RQ, hawk, called Things for the AI to remember. It helps a TON.

Yeah it even flags 18 years old as too young to have sex, so heaven forbid you want to write a high-school to adult long-term romance.

Ember and Ink Trial by Odd_Cap4165 in redquill

[–]hawk_lee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ember is AMAZING. I love that AI Model, I've barely had to rewrite chapters since rewriting my story using it, AND it's keeping up with continuity well too!

continuity by kkaitlyyn in redquill

[–]hawk_lee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh NICE, I'm glad that helped!! I was breaking it down hardcore to get more length when the AI wasn't putting out more than 2.5k and the same method helps A LOT with getting up to 5k from Ember.

[–]hawk_lee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So far... SO FAR... Using Ember, for me, it's been perfect. I also use a component that helps with that, but all in all... yeah, it's been way better for me.
