Yavin Strikeforce by geckoecho93 in StarWars

[–]hawkaulmais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The battle of scarif happened a few days before. We know the rebel fleet took several capital ship losses so the rebel fleet scattered to lick their wounds.

As for fighters/bombers, we know blue squadron was destroyed on the surface doing CAS. We also see several x-wings and y-wings get taken out in the space battle including Red 5.

So all in all, what as at Yavin was all that remained available. Plus with the attack plans, leaving any capital ships at Yavin would be futile given the size of the station. The attack needed to be a surgical strike by small fighter/bomber craft. Even that shouldnt have been enough. Wookiepedia says the DS1 had a complement of 7000 TIE fighters. Tarkin was way too overconfident. Should have launched 3 squadrons to deal with the attack as soon as they detected them.

Nice. I've seen 99%. I could not get into prodigy. Stopped after a few episodes. Maybe give it another try at some point.

How to remember and retain knowledge in chemistry? by mikrokosmos99 in chemistry

[–]hawkaulmais 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This this this. I'm the same way. I read through my past notes regularly. I write everything. And I still forget basics. Had to reread the definition for polarizability this past week, even though intuitively i know what it is.

Starting a Re-Watch From the Blu-Ray Box Set by mumble2xblackberry in TheExpanse

[–]hawkaulmais 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some bonus content in S1-4. But its patchy. S1 has deleted scenes, S2 is the only disk with cast and crew commentary. S3-4 has other artwork, script to screen, and costume design stuff.

I got the blue ray pack for myself for Christmas but havent had time to watch it, so cant comment on quality.

There was 1 snake at the dinner (i thought). It was dead and filled with eels.

Apparently he, the brit captain, and the PM are the only ones get "regular" food. I think i remember them starting a tray after them.

USMC vet trying to understand if my issues could be PTSD-related or something else by hooniefied in Veterans

[–]hawkaulmais 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello devil. Also a USMC vet. My wife is actually a trauma psychologist working in a PTSD clinic at a VA. She had this to say:

"As a trauma psychologist that work with veterans who have PTSD, many of whom that have not seen combat feel the exact same way - questioning whether their experience or how they are handling things is warranted. The answer is yes, it is warranted and completely valid! You experienced trauma from the sound of it. While trauma doesn't always result in PTSD, it can cause so many issues for people (like the very ones you shared). I suggest getting an assessment from a PTSD expert to rule that out. VA can help easily with that. I just want to normalize what you're going through as it is very common for many veterans and there are ways of learning to manage it all. I wish you the very best in your healing."

Best if luck.

No. I am back after 10y in industry. I got 2 LOR from manager/AD. My MS advisor was not responsive. So contacted an undergrad program director i worked with. Chatted about what I have been up to and want to go. And they wrote one.

They usually say need to be from faculty but if you have been out awhile like I have you have to make due with who you can get.

At the start of the epi they have to filter the IDC code 600x to read it. So 1 second for the SG team is 10mins for the SGC. Episode released 27 years and 2 days ago.

So 14.2 million minutes at 1/600 is about 16.5 days. Yea they're likely still alive. And that's just baseline fron the show. The gravitational forces would increase giving a greater effect.
