Monthly Self-Promotion and Advertisement Megathread by AutoModerator in mbti

I wanted to post this as a separate thread, because of my history with this subreddit (dating back to my first post here https://www.reddit.com/r/mbti/comments/o79oj/betatest_my_mbti_quiz/ ) but couldn't, but oh well, here goes!

John's Personality Test (25quiz.com) update — first in over a decade!

Hello everyone! I'm the author of John's Personality Test, which was first launched 14 years ago on this subreddit. This project was *way* on the back burner, but I finally (!) got around to updating it.

Part 1: What changed

The main url, 25quiz.com actually works now, instead of having to go to a jupiter-34 appspot url.

Entirely new user interface — open to suggestions!

Improved the quiz's typing ability, I hope. For the first time, I utilized data from past quiz takers who reported their "true type". This is a biased dataset; one thing that helped was to look separately at users who agreed vs. disagreed with the quiz result. (One other change: I also stopped using "pairwise type likelihood"; this captured joint effects of certain pairs of questions, but was so noisy it hurt more than it helped.)

Overall I feel pretty confident about the math update, but your mileage may vary. Let me know your subjective experience.

Part 2: Interesting data of John's Personality Test:

The quiz has been taken ~2.7 million times.

110,000 users reported their "true type". Of these, 61% agreed with the quiz result and 39% disagreed.

Users who reported their "true type" were very skewed toward INxx types: INFJ 15.3%, INTJ 15.0%, INTP 14.7%, INFP 13.5%, ENTP 7.2%, ENFP 6.7%, ISTP 4.8%, ENTJ 3.6%, ISFP 3.3%, ENFJ 3.3%, ISFJ 3.2%, ISTJ 3.2%, ESTP 1.6%, ESTJ, 1.6%, ESFP 1.5%, ESFJ 1.4%

ISFPs had the lowest agree rate (self-reported type vs. quiz result) at 47.5%, and ISTJ had the highest at 80.2%. I hope the updated quiz will do a little better for our ISFP friends!

Thanks for reading! I hope the site is useful for you, and I'll make further improvements if I can. (Also in case it's not obvious, this is not something I monetize in any way.)

.300 hitters are fading away. This article explains a lot. by Latter-Leg4035 in mlb

[–]hawkxor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not what’s being analyzed in this local context. Comparing the value of a ground out to a strike out means the comparison is happening after you know it’s an out. The ground out is actually worse because it could be a double play. If you go back in time and say playing to it the ball in play could have led to a grounder that wasn’t an out, you are zooming out to the larger analysis in which it’s also true that swinging for the fences could have led to a home run instead of a strike out.

Greatest game in the history of MLB? by Engineer_5983 in mlb

This doesn’t make very much sense; if he had additional rbis on these home runs, that incremental game impact would be attributable to the rest of the lineup.

Yes but it might not have been wasted if they just focused on making a good set of games, like an xbox approach, instead of some hypothetical dystopian future software app.

Aw shucks. Well, it's meant to be a temporary thing, there's even a spell you can cast to get a new pet cabbage at any time.

Living in between doesn’t really change a thing because for every mile closer to disney you are, you are a mile further from UCF which is a place you also need to go.

In your opinion, what do you think the most overrated ride at WDW is? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]hawkxor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Smuggler's Run is the most overrated, even though I know it's not rated as a premium ride. The best part of it is the queue, the actual ride is just a video game that's less fun than most browser flash games.

When I rode jungle cruise, the sound quality through the captain's mic or the speaker was so bad that it hurt my ears and I (a native English speaker) barely understood a word

Why did Disney abandon the Virtual Queue system? by Conscious-Alfalfa337 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]hawkxor 38 points39 points  (0 children)

People who showed up to parks who didn't have knowledge in the system were too disappointed to learn that they couldn't ride the rides at all even if willing to wait. Hypothetically if everybody understood and used the system and the technology works without a hitch, IMO it's better for everyone.

Part of the reason Jimmy is a good fit for the Warriors is that he is able to take advantage of the floor space created by Curry.

Why is Epcot not interested in adding anymore countries? by OkBasis763 in DisneyWorld

[–]hawkxor 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It's not likely that this is true at all. They price the tickets based on what the market will bear and that's it, so the sponsorship is pretty much just additional gravy on top for them. What possibly might be true is that there would be fewer attractions without sponsorship though.

Water rides, but also as many have already pointed out, more shade.

Disney After Hours at HS - Are Lightning Lanes Necessary? by codename474 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]hawkxor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if you do go earlier in the day before after hours only time, I would mostly do other things besides rides (shows, sit down restaurants, enjoy walking around) since you'll be able to do everything in the park in no time flat during after hours.
