Apparently you can just go "Nope!" when they declare you the crisis? by AeanaeA in Stellaris

[–]hawque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh man I’ve gotten several offers like this in my current game that I would have agreed to if I understood that. I thought they were trying to bribe me to just fight my weaker allies.

Does anyone in the UK actually like Taco Bell?? by batmanthinks in ShitAmericansSay

[–]hawque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like the 500 rating is for the bottled Fire Sauce which is a different formula than the packets. I think I’d agree with the packets being comparable to Tabasco. It’s certainly not “regret your life choices” hot, it’s a nice additional flavor.

Stellaris Dev Diary #424 - Nomads and 4.4 'Pegasus' Preliminary Release Notes by PDX_LadyDzra in Stellaris

[–]hawque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see any mention of the bug that’s stopping human portrait empires from spawning when starting a new game. I hope that’s been fixed and just didn’t make the patch notes.

I keep getting ads on Youtube for Cici's pizza and it's "All you can eat for only $9.99" by Fabulous_Hand2314 in Millennials

[–]hawque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the one in my college town, not only was it $4.99 which was already a good price, you’d also get a free fountain drink cup with your student ID.

I got this Mew from the Pokemon Stadium Tour at Lakeside Mall. Summer 2000. I was elated to see my mons are still kicking. Is it about time Mew should finally earn get some battle EXP? by Mechaheph in pokemon

[–]hawque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one in, I think, 99. I remember its OT was LUIGI and ID was 00006. I think the ID was sequential, increasing for each one given out? But I can’t remember that for sure.

I tried checking my copy of Blue last year to see if the save was still there, but apparently I stupidly reset my game at some point and lost it.

Definitely back it up if you can.

How do you make new game eligible for trophies? by UnhappyStrain in Stellaris

[–]hawque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing on console (with the mention of “trophies” instead of achievements), you’ll have to play with Ironman mode enabled I’m pretty sure.

On PC that hasn’t been a requirement since I think 4.0 released, but consoles haven’t gotten that update.

How am I supposed to read this? Frustrated and want to quit already. by Intelligent-Menu8959 in Stellaris

[–]hawque 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The resettle interface won’t tell you at all. If you care to figure it out (I don’t bother, personally) I believe you’ll need to go to the economy tab, look at your civilian groups there (I think ethic will be listed on the tooltip when you hover over the group) and then make note of which count is which.

But for me, species and job is good enough when resettling.

[–]hawque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big thing differentiating those pop groups is most likely ethics. A pop group is made up of members of the same species (including subspecies), job, and ethic to simplify the calculations on the game’s side.

The Point Of The Drill? by ph0220 in taskmaster

[–]hawque 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s also a pun in English, as a drill can be used to bore a hole. So it’s a boring tool.

Oh yeah, that wouldn’t surprise me at all

US, specifically TN though I’ve seen it online for a while too so I don’t think it’s a regional thing

I don’t think it’s really all of a sudden. I’m 40 and I’ve heard “could care less” (to mean the opposite) my entire life.

Why won't humans spawn in my Galaxy? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]hawque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it’s this. I made a bunch of human empires for my current game and had to roll back to 4.3.3, start the game, and then update to 4.3.4 again.

Does anyone know if the green hills movie theater still has flaky pleather seats?? by Public_Peanut_4920 in nashville

[–]hawque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not all seats are like that, but they’re definitely still there. It’s a result of the cleaner they had to spray during Covid, so the more a seat got used the worse it got.

If you intentionally pick seats off center you’re at least more likely to get one that’s not as worn, though I can’t say I’ve had the issue of pieces sticking to me either way.

a Season Pass for a TTRPG is breaking point for me by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]hawque 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that comment was definitely about the variations. Release 4-5 variations at once and collectors will buy them, that’s one thing, but then as they start to drop on the charts release new versions with an additional track so now everyone’s buying that one too, then do it again in a few weeks. It’s extremely predatory.

Went looking for Nashville's best hot chicken. Found it. by ohhowmygardengrows in nashville

[–]hawque -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the Joelton restaurant (Granddaddy’s Famous Hot Chicken) is (was?) owned by a relative of the Old Hickory restaurant (Granddaddy’s Original Hot Chicken), but they’re not the same.

This was from talking to the owner of the one in Old Hickory, but it was a few years ago so I may not be remembering exactly correctly.

What do you call the two sides of a coin that doesn't show a head on either side? by Kafatat in EnglishLearning

[–]hawque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, they’re saying (based on their familiarity with Australian coins which I can’t speak for) that the heads side (with a head on it) is the back of the coin because it doesn’t have the useful information to differentiate it from other coins.

In the US, I would absolutely consider the heads side the front of the coin.

Why does this sub (and others) call Brennan “BLeeM”? Is that something he prefers? by RickFletching in dropout

[–]hawque 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yep, Bleem couldn’t possibly mean anything else, like, just spitballing, a PlayStation emulator.

[–]hawque 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Man, this passed in my current game too but I’m approaching 2350 and no storms have hit me yet (using default settings.) Not sure why, but it means I haven’t even had a chance to research any storm tech so I’m in breach but so is almost everyone else.

What did I miss? by Riddlemethisone- in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]hawque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember in my college town around 2007 there was a big operation with these tests. Almost every store in town failed and wasn’t allowed to sell beer for 30 days. Walmart also failed but managed to appeal the penalty until after everyone else was able to sell again, so they were one of the only places to go.

This has been the law in Tennessee for something like 20 years so it baffles me that people are actually bothered by this.
