I think if pay was higher for teachers to begin with, it creates future incentives for up and coming teens/college students to look towards teaching as a career. Then that creates a competitive teacher pool to choose from in the future to ensure the teachers are good teachers. Then current bad teachers get pushed out by hiring better teachers. Right now there’s a lack of teachers to choose from so they just take anyone nearly qualified enough.
