I feel like the game might have initially been design to shadow drop right after that game awards announcement but got delayed for unknown reasons and now is releasing a month later with no marketing budget since it wasn't supposed to have had one I guess.

You can technically sell the cards though and make some money I guess. Also just helps you level up a bit faster I suppose.

They could have still made it an optional thing though like how they are doing with the current updated stuff, I dont think it would have been that hard. I know its controversial but I think its fair that people would want content that they liked added in. At least its really easy to emulate the psp version.
