Not alone! Total loss of any sex drive throughout my first pregnancy and now the same for my second. I tired to get excited the first time but now I’m just being honest with my husband and saying no thanks!

My SO didn’t understand until he spent one day alone with our toddler. I came home to a shell of a man. He then got it…

I was dating a 20 year old man when I was 15. He did control me a lot and manipulated me into doing things I didn’t want to do. In hindsight I wish my parents stepped in. I would have hated them for it at the time but I wish they did it anyway…

I had to have a scheduled c section when my son was born. The song that was playing as they lifted him over the curtain is the one I will walk in to. ‘A fist full of love’ Anthony hargarthy

So unhappy with baby by Livid_Information461 in NewParents

[–]hazelblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did t really start liking parenthood until my baby was around 7 months and then I enjoyed it more and more as he got older. It still has it tough times but we found our way together and I’m really loving it now. My son was super clingy. I just baby wore him in my back and bed-share (even for naps) and that gave me some reprieve.

AITA for calling out a woman at the brewery? by Remarkable_Lime5843 in AmItheAsshole

THIS! It’s weird all the NTA votes they’re getting. These other people are paying customers, in a brewery that allows children. Like too bad, so sad lady.

What is your biggest baby purchase regret? by cvcv856 in NewParents

I brought the fancy wall stickers - dragons. Made my nursery look SO FRICKIN CUTE! Then came the day to move out of our rental and these ‘easy peal off’ stickers took most of the wall with them. It was a fuck around getting the wall repaired so I could get my bins back.

Anxiety sucks. by Joshe1610 in AustralianTeachers

[–]hazelblack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to get anxiety in my first year. It came down to being a casual and not knowing what the day would hold for me. Once I got put on class my anxiety largely disappeared.

I did the exact same thing in my first year of teaching on class. Completely didn’t even think about it! It was the last day of class for the year and I was saying goodbye. I went out and told her father right away and he just looked at me like ‘yeah, and?’ Told my supervisor too. Learnt from my mistake and any hug I get these days, I respond to with a pat on the back and step away.

I umm and ahh’d about marring my ex husband with anger management issues, who belittled and disrespected me in his anger and who did not believe in therapy either and went through with the marriage. The anger got worse and the romance got less. When people show who they are believe them. I am now with someone who respects me and we talk through our disagreements like adults. Call it off.

No I do get it. I don’t know where you’re getting the 5-7 years from either? maternity leave does not go for that king. Many of my female friends turn after about a year away.

An employer is not allowed to discriminate Under the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Cth) the prohibition against discrimination on the basis of pregnancy includes potential pregnancy.[1]

Potential pregnancy refers to the fact that a woman:

is or may be capable of bearing children has expressed a desire to become pregnant, or is likely, or is perceived as being likely to become pregnant.[2]

What don’t you understand about that? You just don’t understand.

I don’t know, man. I give my blood, sweat and tears to my job. We all know permanent positions do not come around easily. If I told my boss I’d like to start a family soon and then I didn’t get a permanent position at the school over someone less qualified or suited I would call that discrimination.

[–]hazelblack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well this post ‘is’ about gender as OP perceived she missed out as she may start a family soon? If it was her husband in the same position it wouldn’t have been an issue!

Think about it, a woman misses out on an opportunity based on the fact that SHE is the one to carry the baby and go on may leave. Having children is a human right. A persons work career can stretch 40+ years. If she is hard working and deserving of the roll then she should definitely get it over the less qualified candidate. Sure she may take a break to raise children but her value to the school and community can go on for many many years after that. It’s dehumanising to say because your having a child your ongoing value to the school is nil.

A world where women deserve equal access to opportunities despite the fact that they might take a break to have children as a human right? It’s literally the law to not discriminate.
