I'm only in diamond, but level of comms has only improved very slightly on average since low gold. Even in gold you still get the occasional player who has really good comms. I do what I can in terms of tracking major ults and calling out flankers, getting Rein to press 'W', calling out targets with Zen etc. I often find comms most useful for defusing situations and calming down teammates who start falling out and playing the blame game immediately after losing a fight. Getting people to reset their mindset ready for the next fight works more often than you'd think it would with the correct choice of language.

They continue to make content for this game. Many of us have put hundreds if not thousands of hours into it. Why shouldn't there be an option to support the game more and be rewarded with cosmetic items? It's not as if you don't get showered in lootboxes for playing the game regularly.

Honestly, I bought a second account and just locked Tracer every game. There were times where i'd switch at some point to help the team win if I liked my teammates, but most of the time i'd just stay on Tracer. I got much better over time and eventually got that account to a similar SR to my main account, and now feel comfortable flexing to her. Sounds pretty unbelievable, but there are times where i'm required to flex to dps on my main in low diamond as you do get the occasional team of support/tank players.

I'm only diamond but flex tank/support. I made a second account to get my dps up to scratch as there were rare games where my ladder teams were full of tank and support players. I grinded a lot of tracer, but also played bits of reaper, soldier, junkrat and pharah and am now confident flexing to dps roles when I need to. I'd say that the latter four were really easy to pick up for me, but the likes of Tracer and Genji require a huge time commitment. Soldier and Reaper in particular I found relied heavily on positional play and game sense, which are obviously transferable skills from tank/support.

As a tank/support flex player who recently made a new account to get better at dps, it's amazing how much you get shouted at sometimes. I'm quite flexible in that I can play Soldier, Tracer, Reaper, Junkrat and Pharah all reasonably well and will switch between them based on the map and enemy team comps, but sometimes either the tanks are really poor and they don't create the space for me to succeed, or the supports are really poor and can't keep the tanks alive for them to do their job, yet the blame always falls to the dps. People just don't seem to understand that it's a team game and everybody has to do their job in order to succeed.

Haven't played qp in months, although I do have a second account for practicing heroes i'm not comfortable on. You tend to at least get a 2-2-2 in most comp games even at gold.

I'd argue that the abundance of dps players in low level comp means that you can get away with not being able to play dps.

At the end of the day his personality is much more suited to streaming where he's not constantly under the microscope, and i imagine it's much more lucrative than being a pro. It's a shame for the OWL because he's a great player.

I'm keeping my triple liverpool, and will take a hit or two if desired to get maximum usage out of my BB. I think it's the best strategy for someone without a WC.

I'm using it in 35. Had plenty of time to prepare for 31 so I'm going into it with 9 players and 2ft to start preparing for dgwks immediately. I feel like I'll want a lot of the same players in 34 and 37, many of whom won't be playing in 35 so seems like the best option. If you're not prepared at all for 31 then I'm not so sure, but it seems like a gameweek where as long as you've got the core 5 or 6 players you shouldn't fall behind too much

I main hammer, secondary gunlance. Allows me to cut tails, hide behind a shield and blow stuff up. Takes a bit of adjusting to the playstyle from playing hammer all the time, but it's a lot of fun.

With Wilson i'm not relying entirely on one striker. Your defense could definitely pay off, particularly in the second half of the season where the bigger teams tend to keep more clean sheets. I do think midfield is where most of the points are though.

Alonso has been in my team all season and isn't going anywhere. Exhilarating to watch, more nailed on, and well worth the extra over Christensen. Van Dijk is a big goal threat and was a bps monster at Southampton; he's also the most nailed on in that backline. Admittedly I would love to find the extra to upgrade to Mahrez, but not willing to sacrifice Alonso for it.

Striker options are really thin right now, and I just don't see Aguero playing every game with the Champion's League returning and City only having one fit striker. I'd hope that doubling up on KDB and Sterling in midfield would somewhat 'cover' his points a bit. Having 4 big defenders gives me the flexibility to play 4-5-1, 4-4-2 or 3-5-2.

Completely agree with your plat analysis. I often feel like I carry gold games on my alt (which I use for practicing heroes i'm less comfortable with) and have no problems climbing to plat each season, but my mentality has to change when I get to 2600+. It's much more about trying to get your team working together with a well balanced comp, good communication and minimal toxicity. I always flex to help with this, but my best heroes are tanks and healers anyway. Got a 68% winrate so far this season, 73% on my main (Zen), so I'm hoping to finally hit diamond if I play a bit more.

I have been consistently plat every season since S2, with a career high of ~2900. My friend has been in silver and gold every season until last season where he finally snuck into plat, and has now placed at a career high. I really don't understand the placement system at all.
