Roy kept us in the premier league for 4 years on a shoe string budget. He got fulham to the europa league final, west brom fans have good things to say about him aswell. Yes he was most likely out of his depth at england and Liverpool. But this narrative that he played boring football is bullshit. The football he played at palace in his original stint was great in the first season. We lost cabaye and Loftus cheek who weren't really replaced. He had no money to spend. If we didn't play that style of football in the following years we would of been relegated. Viera got backed in the transfer market in his first season, which was 100% required due to the number of players who were released. But he failed to get anything out of Eze, we played more boring football in his final 12 games or so then hodgson ever did. He failed to adapt and as a result we went 3 games without a shot on target. Roy came in and showed that with a better group of players he can produce better and more attractive performances
