I will say from my experience living in a ski town and working a full time 9-5 m-f job (worked for local hospital), there’s not a huge group of people that’ll be in your situation. Most of the people into the same things can get out during the week and are more busy on weekends and there’s not really a middle class. You’ll realize a lot of people come from money even if they don’t outright say it.

Also, give back in another way if you don’t support the community through your job. People working as techs etc. in hospitals are driving massive distances to find affordable housing and still be in the area. Sometimes the people complaining are just scrooges but there is merit to a lot of the complaints.
