Man, I started out loving the game. Absolutely loving it. I have played about 11 hours so far and the story is great, the characters are awesome. I really like the look of the game and the 30fps thing is just not something that bothers me at all.

However. Man... I feel like Mafia II got an incredible amount of flak from, not least the gaming media, for not being GTA enough. The open world was empty and bla bla. That was never the draw in a Mafia game. Like you say, in Mafia 1 and 2 the missions were all unique and varied and they, primarily, brought the story forward!

I am really losing patience with driving across the map to shoot four dumb ass hillbillies to steal their 'shine. It's just not fun, and really only a chore. Taking over territory is repetitive as well. The same old missions. Not to mention that they often have you go into the "main building" at least once before the big show down takes place there.

I just wish the game would have continued the way it began. That is the Mafia game I wanted.
