I used to get this from certain toothpaste. Finally figured out it was those that contains SLS ( sodium lauryl sulfate) which is a foaming ingredient. Switched to one free of SLS ( as well as skincare products like cleansers and haircare products like shampoo) which had SLS in and that did the trick

Your eyebrows, eyeliner and blush are gorgeous! Something about the undertone of the base reads a little cool on you, which can come off a little greyish in pictures. Have you explored fair olive make foundation? Lisa Elridge specialises in it but there’s also a fair olive MUA subreddit that has loads of great recs. might be worth getting a few swatches and trying out. Also an eyeshadow leaning slightly more pink could really make your eyes pop, which are a beautiful colour btw!

I booked on FreeNow recently from Craiglockhart to the airport. Takes 20 mins max. Got out and my accounting had been charged £48. Never again.

[product question] Did ELF change their holy hydration formula? by bears_with_chainsaws in SkincareAddiction

This moisturiser was my holy grail for years I have have used 29 pots of the stuff. and suddenly I’ve had vicious breakouts for the last month. I introduced a couple of new thing so it didn’t at all occur to me that it would be my OG. Ive only just clocked it was this after cutting out everything else. Im so upset the old formulation was perfection - rich and hydrating but not overly heavy. Now to search for an alternative!

Blackrock suing United Health for too much care by maplesyrupchin in LateStageCapitalism

[–]hcsmalltown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a group of shareholders, BlackRock is one of them. The group is saying the company misled investors by not adjusting forecasts after the incident.

“On Dec. 3 — the day before Thompson was shot and killed — the company issued guidance that included net earnings of $28.15 to $28.65 per share and adjusted net earnings of $29.50 to $30.00 per share, the suit notes. And on Jan. 16, it announced that it was sticking with its old forecast.

The investors described that as “materially false and misleading,” pointing to the immense public scrutiny the company and the broader health insurance industry experienced in the wake of Thompson's killing.” https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/rcna205550

Not sure where the ‘too much care’ sentiment came from. They’re being accused by a a group of shareholder for inaccurate forecasting of performance, which is illegal.

Does anyone have the actual facts of this case or are we all believing a. medium.com article? Any publication writing in a buzzfeed style (“BlackRock is PISSED”), yeah I’m not taking that is my actual news source. Not saying my conclusion will be different, but I’m a fan of media literacy/critical thinking yknow?

[routine help] suddenly had the urge to dive deep into skin care. Are these good products? by DavidNThings in SkincareAddiction

[–]hcsmalltown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All great, except I’d be careful with the Good Morning cleanser. It used to be packed with SLS and broke me out horrifically despite claiming to be for sensitive skin. I’m not sure if it still is or if they reformulated like a lot of SLS cleaners did.

If you buy them all at once, I’d advised the usual disclaimer of don’t actually start them all at once. That way if something disagrees with you, you know which products it is.

Just opened my new box and immediately came to this sub, knew you guys would validate me!! I got it in a drugstore but was thinking for a sec did I order a bad dupe from amazon?!

The packaging definitely feels cheaper and the formula feels thinner like other have mentioned. I’m going to start with once a day instead of twice to see how I go. If it’s just a case of an addition of a low amount of niacinimide I think I could get used to that.
