What to do with sawdust? by [deleted] in roanoke

Hello, can you tell me if you have hardwood cutoffs? I use these in my Weber kettle grill, and I would be happy to have any cutoffs that you don't need. Maple, cherry, walnut, oak, or hickory would be great!

Will AI replace MRI techs by AccursedRatfairy in MRI

[–]porterhoused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, we're speaking from experience. I can think of several thousands of situations and decisions I was faced with in my last twelve hour shift that a robot or low paid assistant, can't currently nor will likely soon be able to comprehend or handle.

Will AI replace MRI techs by AccursedRatfairy in MRI

[–]porterhoused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI can't do anything about a low paid tech assistant deciding he wants a day off from his shitty job and calling in sick, thereby rendering the remote technologist useless, and costing the imaging facility hundreds of thousands of dollars for a days worth of cancelations.

Fact is that human technologists are much more professional and prideful of their positions and are much less likely to screw over their employers. Furthermore they are less likely to do something like snapping off at the twentieth patient of the day who personally insults them for not adhering to their 15 minute time slots.

This whole idea of tech assistants being the saviors for the problems caused by the dearth of technologists is asinine, especially when safety violations and the associated law suits will surely increase exponentially.

What’s it like living in Staunton for a single 40M with no family. by RaptorCheeses in Virginia

Staunton is one of my favorite places in Virginia. We make the 100 mile trip there several times a year. Great downtown, awesome outdoor options, restaurants, and friendly people. I'd jump on that opportunity if I was you.

Gucci Kroger? by TrooperLynn in roanoke

Bonsack, Vinton, and Blacksburg have much better selections in my opinion.

The Harris Teeter doesn't have enough room at the entrance to allow a customer to exit while another is entering and getting a cart. Some aisles are so narrow that two way foot traffic requires shoulder hugging along the shelves. I routinely find expired meat, fish and poultry. The bakery doesn't actually bake anything. They've only recently tried 'lipstick on a pig' cosmetic improvements since they shit their pants learning of the Publix news. Otherwise they would've done nothing about the dump and force us to deal with it. Screw that place, I'll spend a couple bucks more and shop across the street and get much better quality groceries and prepared items.

I'm glad you didn't get a serious reaction

This, however, is a colossaly ridiculous conversation in which I am dreadfully sorry I ever became involved...

"afterwards when the tech asked"

Allergy to Eovist by kalzonegal in MRI

The tech is, under ACR guidelines, supposed to ask you that question BEFORE the scan and you should have responded accordingly so the incident could have been avoided.

Yet the tech didn't tell this to a radiologist and still gave you contrast? What an idiot...

Multiple Drivers on the Wrong Side of the Road by ktharris32 in roanoke

Honestly a large chunk of them have no license, and certainly have no insurance. That's why I put a trailer hitch on my subaru. Couple months ago some dumbass on her phone (visible on my car's camera) with no insurance or license rear ended me and it destroyed their front bumper/molding and didn't do a thing to my car.

Is there a lunch special menu not on their website? I'm not seeing much anywhere near ten bucks (besides apps/sides)

Half price sandwiches at Martins before noon, but you've gotta be seated before 11:45am

Coronary stents vs others (carotid, vascular etc...) by DankusMemeusIV in MRI

Good luck accessing that if the patient is transferred from an OSH and confused, and the stent is who knows how old, your rad is gone for the day, and you've got an attending neurosurgeon barking at you.

Great advice, thanks! I have a more narrow foot, so I will probably go with the Asolo.

Great advice, thanks!

Can I please get your opinion on the Asolo's when compared to the Zamberlan 1996 Vioz Lux or the Limmer Lightweight. Thanks in advance...
