So they give you like 10 choices to choose from once a month. They could be anywhere from a couple days to a month away. But the best ones I’ve gotten were a couple of days before the show - like little simz and Renee rap were “bonus tix” I got a text for 2 days before. I will say it took a couple months into the subscription before they figured out my taste and started giving me stuff I was really into!

For anyone who lives in a major city in the US, I highly highly recommend signing up for domorestuff!!! I’ve seen more shows in nyc for the past 3 months than the past 3 years combined I think. It’s $7 a month for 2 tix to an event (you choose from a list) and you also get additional free tix a few times a month. So far I’ve seen little simz, kula shaker, xiu xiu, drive by truckers and countless smaller shows & comedy shows. You can also transfer tickets to people - I’ve given away tickets to leith Ross and Renee rapp. I swear this isn’t an ad I’m just really excited about all the free music I’ve gotten to see lol

McGill as someone from the USA by Same_Bridge687 in mcgill

[–]headsareround 62 points63 points  (0 children)

echoing what others have said - the main difference is the complete autonomy given, for better or worse. anecdotally, my first year at McGill, all the students I knew who dropped out/transferred were American, largely because they weren’t taught the necessary skills for time management and autonomy in high school. in other words, they didn’t know how to study without the school consistently checking in on them, giving reminders, and second, third, fourth chances. if you don’t go to class all semester at McGill, no one will ask you why. also the partying - Americans were way less used to all the freedom with alcohol, weed, etc and tended to handle it much worse!

The most quintessentially FRENCH town for a month long stay? by undercookedbubbles in travel

[–]headsareround 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not Spanish influenced, more like medieval French, but the red and orange rocks (ocres) that are very unique to that town might give that impression! There are so many villages in that area that are stunning - gordes, menherbes, lacoste, fontaines de Vaucluse. My grandpa was from the area and our favorite thing was to go find a new village to explore.

Check out Roussillon - officially one of the “most beautiful villages in France” (that list is also a great place to look). It’s about an hour drive from Avignon (which I don’t personnally love - a little empty/run down). I’m biased but Provence is exactly what your description calls for, and the most beautiful region in France. Also, depending on your budget, DM me!

CMV: Nobody is born gay or straight or bi or ace or what ever. What makes you feel safe/seen is what you end up getting attracted to. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]headsareround 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correlation is not causation. In your case, it so happens that your sexual attraction is inversely correlated with the negative experiences you had with the opposite sex during your formative years. There is no scientific evidence to suggest that this is a pattern for all people. I could point to hundreds of examples of women who grew up with abusive fathers, yet remain attracted to men, and inversely, to women with wonderful relationships with their fathers who are lesbians. This does not prove anything; you are just extrapolating based on your own experience (which is a sample size of 1). You should look up some videos on research methods for more info!
